The Roomba i3+, Roomba 980, and Roomba 960 all utilize digital mapping to navigate and clean your space. At the conclusion of the cleaning session a digital mapping report is created and available to users. Which is most quiet? Roborock S6 or iRobot 7 or 9?
@ModernCastle
3 жыл бұрын
Depends on the mode. S6 MaxV and S9 have a quiet mode, both of which are similar. However, the S6 MaxV on mopping mode would the be the most quiet. Roomba i7+ doesn't have variable power, so it's going to be louder (or closer to the same volume as the others at full power). At full power all 3 are about the same.

Biggest difference between i7+ and i3+ is that the i7+ has customized digital mapping and in general is a better navigator because of it. If you have a complex and/or large home layout (say 1,500+ square feet) then I would say go with the i7+. If not, save the money and get the i3+.

I've owned a large line up with my latest being the i7+. It is the best option for most people. Until now you had to maintain the vacum every time you used it making it less of a convenience. The self emptying docking station is mind blowing. I don't touch the i7 for a full month. It's on schedule to clean the entire first floor of my large house daily and require zero maintenance. Best thing we ever did. Run time doesn't matter because it docks itself, charges exactly the amount of time it needs to finish its job and does that. The mopping on the roborock is a gimmick. It'll be awhile before they make robots mop well. You spend more time filling tank and cleaning the cloth on the robots that don't even do a decent job than it'll take you to grab a swiffer and mop yourself.
@MajorPickleSwag

roborock s7 works very well according to new reviews and that works with an auto empty dock. The roborock g10 (Chinese flagship) works with a dock that can automatically clean your mop pad so it won't be very much longer until something similar comes to the US.

Some small corrections: All of Roborock's E series are capable of smart navigation. Not just the E4 Every single Roborock vacuum is capable of auto-rechage charging Not a single Roomba has a maximum rated battery life of over 120 minutes even on low power Little bit of a nitpick but Roomba isn't its own company. Roomba is just the name of the product. iRobot is the company

Here's a strange question, or maybe not. On my who's on my WiFi app, I can find the vacuum but I keep getting "unknown device found" . I changed WiFi password just in case someone was piggybacking on ours. But it still appears.. So, my question, is it possible that the vacuum and the charging base have 2 separate WiFi addresses?
@ModernCastle
3 жыл бұрын
No, that's not possible. Only the vacuum communicates with your wifi. Device labeling in the router's backend is notoriously hit or miss. My router too has trouble knowing what every single device is. However, it's more likely that it's something you added yourself that the router just cannot identify, even though it has been allowed on.

I have been thinking about the Roborock AI model for a while, but.. is anyone else concerned about the data being sent to china and how china could control this information? I'm not conspiracy theorist or anything, but this is a genuine concern/fear of mine. The US Roborock website doesn't ease any concerns when their website looks like it's just been translated from Chinese and a lot of their website reviews are mandarin.

Indeed. I think it's a fair concern and one that's been on my mind also. It seems the data privacy concerns with Chinese-based companies are likely going to come to a head within the next few years. Hopefully we'll see some level of trust and transparency, but I do have my doubts.

I wouldn't get a robot vac without the self empty bin. I bought the Roomba i8+

@@ModernCastle I wish the side brush was slower and didn't get tangled in the rug fringe. It cleans great and gets rid of cat hair without getting clogged up. I wish there was a lower power (sound) setting.

Please help me with your advice. I am indecided between the roomba i7 or roborocks: I don’t care about the washing of the floor (of which I have heard conflicting views about it) but what I am looking for is the most thorough cleaning possible in a vacuum cleaner robot, so... which do I have to buy? Thank you

If you don't care about mopping then it's an easy choice for the Roomba i7. Roomba's e, i, and s series out performed every Roborock we've tested to date, including the S7, when it comes to vacuuming on carpets. If vacuuming is the most important then go with the Roomba i7.

@@ModernCastle thank you very much for the rapid response. And do you think spending more money on taking 9 is worth it, or the differences are so small that I have to prefer i7?
@ModernCastle

@@valerioparadisi8131 If you have super thick carpets and/or high traffic / pets then I'd say it's worth the S9. If not, go i7. i7 is still an absurdly powered machine. S9 just takes it to the next level in terms of suction power. But at some point enough is enough.

Im having a hard time deciding between the Roomba 960 ($299) and the i3+ ($399). I originally bought a 675 for $180 and while its interesting and works better than I expected I can see its short comings with long cat hair and tile floors. I don't need the best carpet cleaning, but I don't know what the smart decision is here... Tough..

For $100 extra it's hard to not recommend the i3+. It's a notable step up from the 960 in terms of cleaning power, but also in terms of navigation ability. Add that to the self empty dust bin and I think it's the obvious choice.

@@ModernCastle Thank you for responding. I think I'll take your suggestion and step up to the i3+. Hopefully I can find a 10-15% coupon to sweeten the deal even more. Thanks man.

@@pacificdrum0301 Eh...hard to say. Maybe $350, but $399 could also be the pricing floor.
