So useful. I am 80% through and was thinking I was insane that I couldn't find instructions. I bought the metal work a couple of years ago along with the wrong servos. Currently using the 996R's but will upgrade. No bells and (annoying) whistles - very grateful for this contribution

If we wanted to use only one degree of rotation at a time, can we use only one analog pin (say A0) and connect it to the 5 servos using a 5-way rotary selector switch ? That way I guess we can save our analog pins for other sensors? Is this possible?

Having watched your video "Using Servo Motors with Arduino" about controlling multi Servos with the PCA9685 module....as this module is all about I2C protocol, could I also attach an I2C 1602 or 2004 LCD display to display feedback info from sensors on the arm(s). As you say that you will be making another video on the 5DOF arm with improvements, could you discuss my idea during that video if it is feasible. Great series....much enjoyed

I tried case sensitive and lower case, but back to start every time. I give up for now. I did manage to sign up for the news letter, read forum rules and read some introductions from new members. I'll figure it out it's late and I'm tired. Looking forward to future projects I can learn and incorporate into my ideas.

I bought the U brackets, L brackets, servo horns etc off of Amazon, robotshop (dot) com, Ebay, etc; shopping around for each piece you'll be able to afford better servos that can lift more torque, like the ds3218mg's, and it'll cost you less than $150USD total. Just make a list of the components you need and buy what you can when you can.

why you don't use stepper motor instead of servo motor? isn't stepper motors provide more detailed movements than stepper motor. I am thinking of applications to use the arm as 3d printer which requires more accurate movement.
@huntabadday2663
2 жыл бұрын
With servos you can set a position and it will automatically go there while the microcontroller can do other things at the same time. With steppers you have to keep track of where they are which makes it a bit more complicated.
