Omfg this is the best intro ever, why don’t anime’s have these kind of intro’s these days even this is old fashioned from 1985 sci-fi all the intros are so crappy I wouldn’t bother to even watch then them this is one of the best series i’ve ever watched and one of the best intros ever I would replay this over again 👑 *sometimes old fashioned ways are best*

I love Robotech! Robotech is an 85-episode adaption of three different anime television series made between 1982-1984 in Japan;the adapation was aired in 1985. Robotech originally aired on Sci-Fi Channel in 1993. Robotech also aired on Cartoon Network as part of TOONAMI in 1998. Toonami aired only episodes 1-60,finishing the run at the end of the Robotech Masters story-line. Cartoon Network's TOONAMI reran 3-selected episodes of Robotech as part of the Giant Robot Week in 2003. KTEH San Jose,CA Public Television aired the ''Macross'' and ''New Generation'' storylines, as well as the Robotech II:The Sentinels feature. It currently airs daily on The Anime Network,a channel of the ADV Films library. and of January 7th,2007,the show airs in Canada on the Canadian channel of Sci-Fi Channel,Space:The Imagination Station. No matter what I watch, this anime is so AWESOME!

This is back when Transformers and Voltron was really popular cartoons back then, so I guess this was competing on that transforming robot platform at the time!! The Jetfire toy of Gen 1 Tranformers in 1985 was a knock off of Robotech.. Though I didn't really understand Robotech because it was so ahead of it's time and deeper in thought I suppose to me as a 10 year old kid. But I remember this intro above all and the music.. You know looking at this intro now, I swear I think they must of gotten inspiration for the 1986 Topgun movie for the aircraft carrier scenes of launching aircraft!! You see similarities!!

One of the 80's gold nuggets of cartoons. :) Btw, I can't help but think of Probotector, NES' version of Contra, when seeing the art and robot-fight scenes in this intro. Feels like the game was inspired by this (and that robots in general was better, since NES never wanted to display blood and similar brutality with organics in their games).
