10/19/23. I'm worshiping to this video again this morning. I used this video in my husband's memorial service. I'm still glad I chose it. Rock of Ages was one hymn he attempted to sing and oh how I hope he fully understood all the lyrics and that he depended on Christ alone for his salvation. He wasn't musical at all and sang it in a weird way, but I have fond memories of hearing him try to sing it. Oh how I miss the Pacific ocean and our trips there together. Five months and 15 days ago since he died. I can't believe I am still standing. I ask God to make me a brave widow every day by His grace. Thank you for putting this excellent version of a most excellent hymn to such a beautiful ocean video.

Thank you for posting this. I personally love this version of the old hymn by Toplady. Chris Rice is so gifted! I personally am led to genuine worship through Chris Rice's music and in particular this song as well as "Come to Jesus". I love the video of the ocean and the way you merged the ocean sounds into the song. If people realized how incredibly hard it is to be able to sing and play piano the way Rice does, and what dedication it takes to reach that level of musicianship, I doubt they would be so quick to criticize. I admire musical artists who use their God given talents for God and God's glory and for the encouragement of the Universal Church.

I really don't understand your view of Adam being nothing more than a man pulled from among a bunch of other men to be I guess a priest. I don't see any need for Eve. He could just go get any young woman that was around. I have some serious problems with the young earth position. But some of these positions you seem to be seeing into parts of the Bible things that I'm just not seeing. They seem really far out.

Chris Rice should show clearly that he is ONLY the vocalist NOT the songwriter His additional "lyrics" contribute almost nothing.

What is your point? Chris's version is AWESOME! Speak quietly to yourself next time if all you have to say is rude comments. I have seen you comment on other sites similarly. You are a negative human being many would be wise to distance themselves from.

@@dwlsml4118 It's a matter of integrity, isn't it. If credit is being given, then it should be given honestly ie. Credit where credit is due. Even non Christians understand that principle, right. A lack of integrity is not appropriate for a christian. It's also not appropriate for you to suggest that I have a "malfunction." It's rude on your part and provocative. It's not wrong to be angry. But it is wrong to sin in our anger by being unkind as you have been.

A nice rendition, until the end when he gets carried away, it's too bad he doesn't have the chops to really sing this song the way it was meant to be sung. I've always thought of this as being a very emotional song and Chris Rice doesn't offer much emotion, he's mostly just singing the words.

Lenny- if you are a Christian as you portray with liking this song, your actions show nothing of the sort. You are just a rude person who seems very emotionally sad. Stay away from commenting as you certainly are not Christ-like with your rude comments.
