Beautiful demonstration. Well done. I'll be referencing this as I replace my elastomers. Thank you.

Thanks ever so much, mate 👍 glad I can assist. They are super easy. The hard part is the length of Allen key for the internal bolts. Have to get creative unless you buy the tool 👍

Nice work my friend. Are those bits that look like frankfurters what’s known as the elastomers? I don’t really know much about suspension forks.

Yea, there the Elastomers mate. Might have to start calling them Frankfurters from now on 😎 alot of the time they are knackered and can go to mush. These have had an easy life. Near all retro forks are easy. It's all the new stuff that take some real effort as they all have specific tools and different oils 👍

Look like a great job! I'm wondering if you thought about the spray and cleaner that you used and whether it was compatible with the rubber seals? I know some products out there are not and I'd hate to see that being an issue down the road. Thanks for sharing!!

Hi mate, thanks for the comment. Yea, the cleaner is isopropyl and is fine. I used Johnsons baby shampoo to clean the internals. The silicone shine is designed to be used in that way, so no worries at all. Also, the grease I used is like the sram honey slick butter and is also as should be. Thanks for the concern and asking, though. Really appreciate it 👍

The Johnson's baby shampoo was the reason for the question. I know that we all think that products for babies are tested and safe, sadly that isn't always true. Anyway, it's only my opinion, thanks for sharing!

@jackiegammon2065 yea, it's better than washing up liquid. Always check the cleaning products for salts and so on as you don't want the elastomers to dry out. Also, use it when fitting invis to frames. That's what they said should be used with the product 👍

I have a bike with Rockshock quadro 21r. I'm on the fence about rebuilding as the steerer tube is probably cut to short for my use. Installed on a 15 inch frame so I'm guessing they won't work on a 19 inch frame. Your thoughts?

Depends on the steerer length. Always look to have full stem engagement to the steerer. Alway worth offering them up to see how much you have to play with. Could be that they may be long enough to get full stem engagement but with no spacers. I wouldn't use any of the nasty steerer tube extenders that you see online. It's not worth the risk. If they don't fit save for future build mate. 👍

@@BikeShedBoy My favorite thrift store hooked me up with a near perfect Woodstock 505 frame for $5. 19 inch frame which is my size. Maybe I'll use fork for that idk. When it comes to fork/shock sizing and installing I'm somewhat clueless. I'll have to consult the Oracle for that sort of stuff. I'm thinking a 1x setup for Woodstock with a modern ebb versus sealed cartridge bottom bracket. I will have to decide how much $$$ I want to put into it.

@steelisreal4313 mate, that's a super cheap awesome buy! Getting the stack height for the frame and headset it not super difficult and could walk you through it. If you follow me on Instagram, then you can send photos 👍
