Hey Bob, your 4:44 reaction got me thinking. Jay-z's lyrics only touch the surface of referencing american pop culture. So at the complete extreme end of the spectrum is Babytron. Almost every one of his lines is a reference andit makes both his production, delivery, and lyrics hilarious and enjoyable. Its the type of music where if you are in the mood, you can analyze the hell out of the lyrics, or you can just shut off your mind and listen to the production. I dont care if you listen to it on this channel or not, he is just a fun artist to listen to. I hope you give detroit rap a go sometime in the future, and try listening to babytron!

Youngboy got the moniker of a very aggressive sort of gangster, angry artist which wrote him off for a lot of people and made him and his fans the brunt of jokes for having that style and being overly aggressive/ scary. But nevertheless he makes timeless music and if you care to listen to find his more heart felt songs. You wont regret it. The youth gravitates toward him for the funny nature of his aggressive style and his heart felt music. Take note he was 16 when he came into the industry and is still growing as a person. Hes more wholesome and logical now and can expect more quality music. My favorite album of his is (TOP). I admit i at first did nto care for young boy due to that aggressive character but as i got older and went through trials, his music resonated more and he grew on me.

Slime is like his affiliation with a gang. It’s a subsection of being a blood they carry a green flag. So everytime he says he is slime, someone else is slime, or that someone is partaking in slime activity it’s a sense of brotherhood along with him commenting on their badassery.

You enjoying this album so much is the most surprised I’ve ever been from a reaction, even MORE surprising than you not really being into 4:44. This is why I love this channel

I can say from a unbiased view point that the hate youngboy gets is purely a trend. The famous meme “Yb better” under any other artist post has worked wonders for his hardcare fanbase. Very polarizing artist he will be talked about more highly in the future I’m willing to bet

bob you'd be surprised to believe youngboy's sound is just a small portion of rap that isn't in the small bubble music nerds and critiques have cultivated. There's hundreds of amazing rap artists in the trap/drill (young boy is neither of these) scene that make great music-- its just never covered by your community because they find no real value in it. This is a mindset a lot of people suffer from. Im glad you finally had the revolution that good music doesn't have to be incredibly deep,,,, so glad. Hopefully we get to see you explore more discographies rap nerds never give a chance,,, chief keef, lil baby, youngeen ace, Kodak black, pop smoke... these are all sounds you've haven't gotten to yet and I think you'd find it really fun to explore these artists and test your ear.
