This is the best Halloween album of all time and one of the best trap albums of all time. Metro’s production has so many great little embellishments and details that just add to each song without the beats feeling cluttered or messy. Offset and 21 save great matching energy. Both are cold sounding but Offset has more energy and 21 sounds darker, a perfect match. The 2 features from Travis and Quavo are both fantastic. No bad songs on this album. Wish you didn’t cut the Quavo verse though, I love that verse.

Album is a core memory to me. I can remember the day this dropped completely out of nowhere. I feel like Bob didn't know if Offset was a rapper or a producer going into this and was afraid to say his name throughout the entire project. LOL, Poppop, Offset is one of the three members from rap group Migos. Quavo and Takeoff are the other two members of the group. (Edit: just got to 31 minutes in and he finally said Offset's name lmao) - For context: 2017 was the year of collaboration albums, Young Thug & Future released "Super Slimey" Lil Baby & Gunna released "Drip Harder," Quavo & Travis Scott released "Huncho Jack, Jack Huncho," Playboi Carti & Lil Uzi Vert were rumored to be dropping an album (that never came), etc. So this album being called "Without Warning" was a play on the fact that they dropped the album on Halloween completely unannounced during a year where there was a lot of collaboration in hip-hop and basically blew everyone else's albums out of the water. This album absolutely grows on you the more you listen to it, the songs have so much replay value, there's not a bad song on the album. For additional context; this was a turning point for a lot of people looking at 21 Savage. 2016 was his blow up year but he got a lot of hate for being a bad rapper with a boring voice, this album marked a huge improvement in his catalog and he's only gotten better since!

I think the reason songs that sound very similar to popular songs don't blow up for that exact reason; they're a new artist trying to make waves but at the same time they're not reinventing the wheel or bringing anything new to the table. one may make the argument that carti is nothing special nowadays, but when he broke onto the scene he was something new and weird. same with lil uzi, same with the migos, even with travis. they now have all of these clones which dilutes how impactful they really were when they had their first big break.
