Hey man I've been struggling a bit with these tips so can you explain this to me? If you are shooting at the ground do you go crouch then shoot then jump? or do you go crouch and shoot at the same time then jump?

There's more than one valid way to do it, and both of those ways would work. Crouching earlier helps ensure you don't accidentally crouch too late and not jump at all, but it makes the overall rocket jump slower to happen from the start of the first action to when you get off the ground. If you're pushing for height badly enough that you're intentionally trying to jump *after* shooting, you're probably experienced or dedicated enough that it's probably better to learn to crouch as you shoot, so your rocket jump happens quicker.

@@Firestabber thanks man. I asked that because of the badlands spire jump in the video. I tried 1000 times to make that jump. It is harder than it look. I think the height of second higher jump is like at least 600 hu

OMG, that shot timing thing is super useful to know I just recently took a grasp of it through testing with pyro And with the detonator it can make a lot of difference! Here is a jump I made with that: kzitem.info/news/bejne/2KSAsaKFjJ5hn3o Thank you so much for sharing this info, that makes so much more sense now. I'm gonna get greedy and leave some questions: - How long is a game tick? Is it 15 milliseconds? - Do you know how long does it take to fully crouch? - From your experience, is the timing affected by lag or interp settings? Have a nice day!

whats the timing like for demo? do you still crouch then jump and det on the same tick or is it different?
@exotic_fishes

I would assume same tick is ideal cause there's no travel time for det

hey, when are you going to do a tutorial on hard walls on ja2?

Yeah, it's been a while since I added to the jumpthrough series. And it's been a couple months since I made a video... But I'm getting back into it and Hard Walls is high on the priority list! It's much harder for me to give advice on because I don't use stock, and it's so different between stock and original, which adds extra challenges. I need to work with stock users for their insight and figure out how to edit/organize the video to effectively give advice for both launchers in the same video. End of March at the latest, hopefully!
