I love youtube. Makes me see things I would never see in my life, I live in a little country, Uruguay and we miss a lot of things I would like so much to see. I was young in the 80s and I loved INXS but I never knew who the members were because that wasn't said in my country, we just listened to the radio and danced in the pubs. So thanks youtube for letting me see this jewel.

I love how Dave is acting like his "audition" for RHCP was so stressful. He had just come from playing in a huge and recently broken band(Jane's Addiction) and I'm sure he had an idea that he wouldn't be jobless for long, whether he got that gig or not. His experience is a far cry from these people who are for better or worse, relatively unknown, at that moment...😆🤔

I know they wanted a level playing field and what not for these shows, but why did they bother having Women on them trying to lead INXS or Supernova? Anyone with a brain in their head knew there was no chance on earth a Woman was gonna be picked to win lol. And I think realistically, Marty Casey should've won this thing. But JD was very good too. Overall though, I enjoyed Supernova more than INXS version of the show. But I am gonna begin rewatching this INXS version for the first time in 11 years... Here we go!. Thanks for uploading these.

All of us women who know the least about this rock industry already knew there was no chance that a woman would win, but don't forget this is a TV show on an international network, and they needed to draw the attention of female viewers. It is a mathematical FACT (I know because I worked on TV) these type of singing reality shows are watched mostly by women, that admire the male rockers, cheer for the female singers they like and bitch about the ones they're envious of. If you analyze all singing TV shows, hot females are always kicked out. Why? Because like I said, women represent the majority of the target audience. So from the perspective of the producers, for the sake of the commercial appeal of the show, they HAD to include women even if they were never going to win.

I would love to have the HD versions of this... had them but PC crashed. I don't know if JD was the choice (winner) before they even started but he is sure skilled at manipulating people. Marty would have been a better choice but trying to "fit in" to INXS's ideas of what they wanted for a lead singer made him change who he was and his performance style (not for the better). Ty Taylor has a KILLER voice! My favorite was always Suzie McNeil! She is amazing, with a great voice and personality. See what she is doing now! As far as Rock Star Supernova??? That was just BS from the start. A few good singers but the premise was wrong. 3 musicians who had never played together as a band, being billed as the Greatest New Rock Band (or some such sh1t), playing boring a$$ old style rock and roll that would NEVER appeal to a new and younger crowd. Not surprised this venture Crashed and Burned before it ever got started. And Lukas was just a joke. In fact there were more crap singers in Supernova than in INXS.

Man.. I dunno about this series. It's just way too polished. When 'Kick' broke I was 13yo.. it was such a special & unique vibe given the glam rock going at the time. I'm not sure rock has much more to give and maybe it's time to leave it in the past. Enjoy and appreciates it obviously but let's not try to replicate it. There's so much interesting stuff happening these days. I'm astonished sometimes how good present day sounds are.

I always felt it was a bit tacky getting a new singer this way but I can see the upside as well eg it gave them a publicity boost and because people voted for the new singer it gave a lot of people a sense of buy in with the new singer. Plus they had tried with Jon Stevens who is a great singer but the crowds they were looking for just didn't come. Whatever they did it was always going to be hard replacing Michael. Not that he could really be replaced.
