Awesome comparison! You were very balanced. Great point about the fragrance additives and skin reactions. My skin is usually quite resilient, but something in the beloved Proraso sensitive pre-shave gives me a reaction like no other product. Congrats on 1000 subs

Great video Heiko. Love my Rockwell 6s more than the 6c. I usually use the number 4 plate. That is what works for me. For some reason I also have the same problem with some Sterling soaps. Must be the fragrance oils. Have a great week. 👍

The Rockwell 6s/6c/2c are great razors. The 6c is one of the best starter razors in wet shaving IMO. The 6c will let new wet shavers grow into more aggressive plates as they gain skill all with one three piece razor. It also offers one of the smoothest shaves in wet shaving. Just wish they covered the blade tabs like the true artisan razor companies do.

I just took out the Rockwell 6s for a spin. Been using the Rockwell T2 and Stainless T2 last 10 months. Used plate 2/4 and a used Gillette yellow blade. The lower plates 2/3 are nice for an autopilot shave. The T2 is nice too, clamps down the blade but the head can be a little bulky. A Rockwell is a must have because of the versatility.

Great comparison Heiko, when I first started I bought the 6C but was put off by the blade overhang. But 7 years later I’m using many razors with overhang, maybe I’ll revisit this razor since I never used it. I also had some Stirling soap irritation. It was with barbershop, loved the scent and performance but cinnamon oil was the culprit for the problem. Congratulations on over 1k subscribers 🎉🍻

Now that you say barbershop, I might have accused the wrong Soap. I might have to rewatch my own video. I don't remember which scent gave me the irritation. It might have been barbershop and not Deep Blue. Thanks

I had some irritation with Stirling as well, but I loved the lather so much. So, I ended up purchasing the Stirling Unscented with Beeswax which is amazing. If I could only have one soap for the rest of my life it would be Stirling unscented with Beeswax.

I bought a 6s from Razor Emporium and had them polish it so it's as smooth as the 6c. It's the best of two worlds. I use plate 4 almost exclusively. It's a great razor. One of my two favorite shavers.

Good shave Heiko. I have both the 6C and 6S, and they're some of my go to, Auto-pilot shavers. And i agree, the Chrome is slicker than the Stainless Steel. If you do have the money to burn, you can also get the Steel replated in Rhodium. I do have several Rhodium Revamped razors, and they're def the slickest that i have, but not worth the much higher price.

I have heard that guys got their 6S polished to get the same smoothness as from their 2C or 6C. The 6S has a matt beat blasted finish. It is not as slick as the chrome on you 6C.

Hey Heiko! I own 2 of each model of the 6s and 6c. I think they are terrific razors! The chrome one is smoother in my opinion but both are exceptional! If you really think about it, they aren't adjustable per say but rather interchangeable I would classify them as. True adjustability should be on the fly without taking out the blade. Nonetheless, very efficient razors! Thanks for your review!! JimG

Greetings from Turkiye! Great video 👍 I’ve started using DE razors for a couple of months now. I started with Pearl L-55 which I guess is a little more agresssive than merkur 34c. I bought Leaf Twig razor in search of a gentler razor for my sensitive neck area. But I find it not efficient enough although very comfortable. I want to try an adjustable razor. Which one would you recommend Rockwell 6C or Merkur Progress? It should be very gentle on the first setting and increase gradually on the following steps. Thank you for this great community you are building here!

Hey Heiko! Really good video, love it! My wish as a subscriber - I'd like to see your new videos more often and get back "german word of the shave". I don't want to pay so much money for a Rockwell razor + delivery. I think it's not worth it. The last plate (6) has tiny GAP of only ~ 0.86mm which can't be considered as aggressive. So this adjustability is a bit funny to me. Overall Rockwell razors are for beginners, that's why everybody loves them imho. Chinese people offer much better razors made of SS for a lower prices, for example like YINTAL 316l you did video with. Greetings from Ukraine! Alles Gute!
@Heiko-shaves

The Rockwell's are pretty popular because a lot of people manage to get a good shave out of them. Don't confuse blade gap alone with aggression. The blade gap always goes hand in hand with the blade exposure. For example the Mühle R41 has very little blade gap but a lot of exposure, which makes it more aggressive than other open comb razors. I would love to post more videos but at the moment twice a week is about as much as I can make. I will try to remember to bring the German words back more consistently. Cheers

Hi Heiko How've you fared with your rex konsul? I have 2 shaves on it so far and both shaves have been less than enjoyable with a gillette silver blue blade. It's cut my skin and irritated it when compared to my henson mild. any tips?

In the beginning of my channel here on KZitem I had a Ambassador for review from Razor Emporium but I was a beginner and ended up not liking the razor. It was too aggressive for my experience level. A few month later I tried a Konsul and ended up liking it so much that I actually bought one. I bet if I would give the Ambassador another try I would probably enjoy it now because I can handle a bit more aggression. Both are for sure not meant for the beginner in this hobby. One thing is for sure there is no "One razor fits all, we all have different preferences, it is still fun though. I love to try out new razors.

Your German accent sometimes resurfaces. German people tend to pronounce words starting with "s" with a sound close to "z". For example when you say "Superhelden" in German, to an American it sounds like "Zoopahelden". Don't feel bad about it, it's actually charming, most people love the German accent ! I know I personally do hence why I'm learning German slowly on my own.
