The robot was included after Stallone saw it at a party and wanted it in the movie. The slip from Apollo wasn’t scripted, it was Carl Weathers slipping for real but they liked it and kept it in. The scenes of Rocky in rural Russia were filmed in Wyoming. As for the final fight, it was filmed at the Agrodome in Vancouver, all the extras were Canadians who probably didn’t understand a word of Russian the ring announcer was saying.

Ivan never faced any adversity before in the ring. He got cut he didn't know how to handle it. He went down and couldn't recover. Rocky is used to going down and being cut so he knows how to survive. That much is realistic.

16:46 Here we are now, seeing the same Apollo who popped up in _Rocky II._ He had _won_ the fight against Rocky, but it ended up not _mattering_ to him because of _hate_ mail. Total strangers wrote letters to him that pissed him off and got him riled up. _Strangers._ Now, here we are with the same sentiment _again._ Ludmilla is implying that Apollo is not at the top of his game and there's no _way_ he'd be able to take Drago. He cannot _stand_ that. He was the American Heavyweight Champion, once upon a time, but the fact that he isn't at this particular _moment_ is a pill he cannot _swallow._ This is something I cannot _relate_ to.

@Reembok Reacts I think what hurts the most in this film, he carries the guilt from losing both Mickey and Apollo. Mickey took in and trained Rocky and Apollo gave him the one thing no one else gave him...a chance and an oppurtunity. Not only that, but Apollo challenged him again and lost honestly and honourably. And when Rocky was at his lowest after losing Mickey and the fight to Clubber, Apollo stepped in and brought him back to life.

Great reaction Remma. The thing I love about this movie is how much Rocky loved Apollo like a brother. You are right he will always carry that guilt around. He wanted to follow his brother's word, but not at the cost of his life. :( You have to watch the Creed movies after you are done with Rocky movies. Also, funny thing is Dolph is a great actor. He is actually Swedish not Russian and Chemical Engineer. :) He also coached the US Decathlon team.

This best movie in the all Rocky and Creed franchise no other movie comes even close to this movie. This is the most successful Rocky movie and the most remembered movie without this movie there are no Creed movies. I love the Montage in this movie Hearts On Fire, Fun facts: During the filming of this movie Stallone asked Dolph to really spar with him. Stallone ended up in the hospital cause Dolph punch him so hard he moved his heart . Another fun fact Brigitte Nielsen the actress who plays Drago wife was the real life girlfriend of Stallone during the time of the filming. :) . You should see Dolph Languren movies like The Punisher 1989, Universal Solider, Showdown In Little Tokyo , I Come In Peace. Rip to Burt Young (Paulie my favorite character)

Rocky didnt need sparring cuz hes already a seasoned professional champion. Drago was still a nood by comparison. His size and strength was really the only reason he could've won against apollo. It was the wrong thing for Creed to make Rocky promise not to end the fight. If he calls it, Apollo may never forgive him; if he lets it run its course, Creed could be injured or - in this case - killed. I think if I was in Rocky's place, I would have thrown in the towel. I might lose a friend, but Apollo would still be alive for his family.

from what i read about Drago, he actually was an Olympic gold medalist in boxing and fought a number of amateur matches against other Russian military. so the whole "Drago hasnt fought anybody" is only partially true. also...something i noticed in the Rocky vs Drago fight was that while it didnt seem like it for a while, those body punches started taking a toll on Drago's body. also... the more times that Rocky refused to stay down, the more it started to mess with Drago's head. you can tell he was getting more and more frustrated because as the fight progresses, his punches start becoming less and less powerful and disciplined and going more into desperate.

Apollo would not have died because like Victor Drago in Creed 2, Drago would have probably been disqualified for late punches at the end of the first round. Even if he was not, the referee would have probably stopped the fight at the end of the first round. As soon as the referee tried to stop the fight but was shoved aside, we would have had a disqualification and probably criminal charges unless Drago had diplomatic immunity. Creed's corner would have ran into the ring as soon as the referee was shoved aside and probably the security too. You can't blame Rocky for not throwing in the towel when the ref was being ignored. His blame would be for not stopping the fight in the corner.
