I was lucky enough to grow up in the foothills below RMNP in Loveland. For over 25 years as an adult I've had a Park's Pass. Even after traveling it's still one off my favorite places on Earth.

The only national park that allows dogs is Mesa Verde. They told us it was a burn area so it was ok. We traveled with our dog from California to Tennessee and had to avoid all national parks because of this issue with dogs however we found lots to do like you guys. Thanks for sharing your epic trip!! I got a 4Runner TRD off road recently and it was great to see in your videos what is possible and what I need to make it complete. Thank you! Great Video! We were recently out there this past July. I’m not much of a crowd person, but that park was absolutely amazing! I was and still am quite upset that I was not able to bring my dog onto the trails with us. Our dog goes everywhere with us. It doesn’t make any sense that we can go 50ft outside of the national park, and our dog can go on every trail with us. We did 10 mile hikes with our dog less than a half mile outside of Rocky Mountain National Park in the surrounding national forests. Also it may be a good idea to mention to people that if you go to the national parks you have to reserve an entry time online. We saw many very upset people at the gates who were not allowed in. Imagine driving 1000 miles or more like we did to go visit the park, and not being allowed to drive in!

Great video as always. That's what sucks about dogs at National Parks, no dogs basically. With our two pups it's national forests for us from now on. Really sucks and the explanations don't makes sense. They say they disturb the wildlife. Is the wildlife different elsewhere that they're not affected or do they just not care? In any case it's too bad but the NPs are just too damn busy anyway.
