I hope I can get in again next year. I think it sold out in about 30 minutes or less this year. Great event!

WOW!!! Another great video. I am sure you many people watching this and say to the themselves I have to do this. Add this to my bucket list. Could you tell me a little about the permits needed for this adventure.

That's the great thing about these trails in Colorado. They are open to the public with no permits required. Unlike areas like the Black Hills in South Dakota that requires you to purchase a trail pass. But, this is also concerning because you see vehicles and inexperienced drivers up there that are not equip to handle those roads and trails like a Honda Pilot, CRV... You really need higher clearance or at the very least, all terrain tires and 4 Low for descending the pass using your engine as a brake.

Good Video. The 4Runner had no issues with steepness at the top or high rocks on the trail? We live in Montrose are planning to do Imogene and come back home over Last Dollar. Ran out of time this year to do it. My video set up is about the same as yours as I can control the GoPro remotely. I have an Hero 8 and the 11. Drone is an Air 2 S together with the iPhone 14 Pro Max. That's about all you need even though I have a Nikon mirrorless that shoots 4K video. Curious about the slide and the winch recovery? Driver error or inexperience. Interested in your thoughts on that. 😀😀😀😀😀 Subscribed.

Thanks for subscribing. The 4Runner had no issues. 4 low 1st gear and it will just keep going. The driver who was stuck in the video was the boyfriend of our trail leader. Even though it was a Toyota event, he was following us up Imogene in his Jeep that was equipped with open differentials. No lockers. He lost traction on a steep section and slipped into that washout.

Sweet video!!! I was the White 4R in front of you just after the jeep recovery. This is great and the video is so clear. Very well done. Question, is this all from your GoPro's? What did you use to splice all the footage?

That's great. I remember talking with you and looking at each others 4runners. Happy you like the video. The front and back videos are GoPros mounted to the truck. I can control them from inside the truck with a GoPro app that's on my iphone. This way I can focus on driving. The rest is filmed with my iPhone and DJI Mavic 3 Drone. The video quality on the newer iPhones is comparable to a GoPro especially with the horizon lock feature that keeps the horizon still so you don't make your viewers motion sick.

@@destinationjourney_overland Perfect. I am heading back down to Ouray in September and might pick one up. Thank you! Videos are great!

Did you explore Ouray County Road 16 (same turnoff as amphitheater, it's the uphill right turn) to the waterfall? There's a great field up there for camping, if you're looking for some free camping next year. The bear up there is very notorious for raiding campsites though. But I'm pretty sure that's the closest free camping to town. 38.015149, -107.653494 that's one of my secret Ouray spots

I did not. That’s great. Thanks for the tip! I will be sure to check it out next year.
