@EVAN CECCHETTO Well, we asked at the tourist office, and they told us not going on our own. So we decided to take an Uber at a reasonable time (at noon. The idea was to avoid the night obviously), and the driver took us there and we stopped for a couple of minutes to take some photos. And really, what we saw in that neighborhood was quite scary, people taking drugs in the middle of the street or people under the influence of drugs that were like Walking Dead zombies. Also, the UBER driver told us bad things about the neighborhood, and that even at night he doesn't go there. Who knows, it is possible that if we had gone at that hour on our own nothing would have happened, but I do not regret not having done it!

I work in these neighborhoods and they're are depressing. A city in decay. My great grandfather started out in the very house that Rocky lived at in the first Rocky movie,( 1818 E. Tusculum St.) yes, that's a fact! Back then these homes were NEW and this was considered the outskirts of the city. Now it makes me want to vomit. The blight, the crime, the drugs, the hookers and the violence.

I grew up in this neighborhood. At one point it was such a nice clean neighborhood back 20-40 years back then drugs came into the scene and destroyed everything . Good neighbors left in exchange for wanna be thugs and selfish crack addicted slobs who could care less about the area. It is horribly sad that a beautiful old neighborhood with solid well built housing stock could just be discarded and left to the vagrants, drug addicts, street gangs, and prostitutes. There are a lot of gorgeous landmark buildings and fine old houses that just need some major repairs accompanied by some tender love and care than Kensington could come back to life. The same for North Philadelphia. These neighborhoods need all the help that they can get since government has ignored its responsibility and business has walked away.

Philadelphia is a great city to invest in real estate there are ghetto areas but they are pockets of ghetto areas, some people sees as Detroit which is very wrong! In North Philly new University's are built for exampleTemple university is a world wide known university is in North Philadelphia there are a lot of neighborhood change other high rise buildings are built in the river casinos in real estate market has been way up!Great city to invest in real estate real estate taxes are near to nothing..and if you build me a construction property 10 years tax free whoever owns it.(so it's very easy to re sell). And if they ever built that the high-speed train line from Boston to New York to Philly to Washington all the way to California it's going to be no more ghetto in nowhere in for the fiesta city because everybody that live in New York professional people will move back to Philadelphia and still work at New York 30 minutes of high-speed train priceless cheap and safe

I have never been to Philly, but I too recently looked it up on Google Map's, it feels like a place lost in time where it still looks like the rundown place and era of the Rocky films. Minus the new cars and the odd places done up to a standard, that anywhere else would still look rundown, but in Philly looks great in comparison. It feels like a trash can, just a huge dumping ground that nobody wants to clear up, you'd think with the success of the Rocky films... That it would have given the area a real boost and uplift... However at the same time, the film's quality of showing how Philly was, might have had the opposite of effect for nostalgia with the films... Still I don't think it's an area i'd want to go visiting...

I watched another video for 2020 and where Rocky and Gazzo talked next to the fence they are building an apartment building or something now. A lot of the locations have changed I would definitely do research like we did before going. Some locations aren't there anymore. You're like there was a huge tall building where did it go? lol You forget from 1976 to 2021 A LOT can change. Still sad tho, you never want things to change, but buildings get old.

Dude, chill. Let me explain what i think. First, in this video these guys are showing the location where some scenes of the Rocky movie were filmed, so everyone knows that he never owned a house in Philly. And, the second thing is that it shouldn't be Hollywood to help Kensington. It doesn't make any sense. Hollywood only makes films, doesn't invest on rundown areas...
