This has to be 50 years old. SO WHY AM I JUST DISCOVERING IT NOW?? It makes me wonder how many other incredible things there are that I'll never see, or even know exist. Beautiful.

Wow! Here is an acapella vintage version of "GASOLINE ALLEY". Raspier than ever the voice may be, but still on key - and certainly WITHOUT ANY SYNTHETIC enhancements! I've been a LONG time fan of Rod but haven't ever seen this until now. I am blown away!

Think about how he learned to dance, act like a model (in the videos) how he changed his style (bleaching hair, new clothing styles, even wearing make-up, etc). He even sang some really bad songs (If you think I'm sexy,HOT legs) but it's what he had to do to stay on top. (People liked those awful songs!🤷♀️😂). Most people whom I heard on the radio when I was a kid were has-beens by the 80's or 90's. Not Rod Stewart! He's 81 and still rocking! I have the utmost respect for him as a performer, singer, etc. (His personal life decisions are another matter!) Love you Rod ❤️!

He can today as much as it could in 1970. I've seen him live twice in the last fifteen years (most recently 2016), he hasn't lost it... ... although, he's a lot more refined than this recording, which I honestly think is a shame. He's lost the sweet tongued Glasgow born Sheffield lad and become a proper singer... not something you'd expect to be a bad thing, but I prefer this recording to the album version (can't comment on live as he hasn't performed it when I've seen him). No criticism though, I love a bit of Rod... that sounds wrong...

I don't know how many times I've watched this... I prefer it to the recorded version by a very long way. The expression, the wrong word spoken, the way the young Rod grins when he's singing it and realises he cocked up on the word "blood" is priceless. You don't get this mix of talent and passion any more.

what we're watching here is a young Diamond in the Rough. an Early Rod, who obviously took a moment to Sing an A-capella version, in a nice courtyard, with Voice-Enhancing Acoustics. boy, wonder if he knew then, the "Superstar" he would turn into. you can hear it in his Voice here. all the resonant qualities, and Rough edge stylings that he, and so few others Possessed. what a trip. wish i could have known him right here, I would have "gone along for the Ride". I'm a drummer.
