The girl is Amy Belle... my understanding is he met her in a subway station.... and offered her an opportunity.... this particular arrangement... is soooo good. And the entire arrangement builds to the Tenor Sax solo when the saxophonist breaks out... it gives me chills.... this arrangement may be my favorite for this song....

Amy Bell is beautiful and Rob is an icon..... I think Amy was 21yrs old at the time, and was busking in the London underground, when she was invited to sing with Rob Stewart for one night only.....and she nailed.

I first heard Rod Stewart when I was 10 years old. I liked it then and I still like him. The first song was "tonight's the night", I just liked his style. But then again at 6 years old I like Buddy Holly and the Beach Boys. I was born a 40 year old, musically.

@@DawnSuttonfabfour They are two separate songs. Dylan's was released in 1974. Stewart's was released in 1988. There was a lawsuit that was settled by Dylan being given writing credit on Stewart's song, but Dylan never recorded the song that Stewart sang.

I am black and one of my favourites band is red hot chilly peppers and others like U2, Pink Floyd, etc.... I was born in Portugal so I wasn't really exposed to rap music that much, I only start to know and listening to rap music when I moved to a different country. There is great music out there especially Brazilian music. Peace from Portugal

I’ve listened to so much music since I was 12 years old, mostly “Rock” but this is one of the most beautiful songs ever written. I remember the first time I heard this was at a local bar with a singer/songwriter in front of a fireplace in Lake Orion, Michigan in 1977 and never forget the lyrics and the emotions emoted. Beautiful

Amy Bell was a busker from Endingburgh or Glasgow UK and he gave her a break, this was her first performance and you can see how nervous she is and also Rod, he turns away from her to give her space, watch them all clap in the background not easy for a 1st gig !!

As a music lover as I am, I think you should hear songs you've never heard before from it's studio version first and then hear any remix or live version. He did such a good job in the original version.

I think some videos get blocked for copyright, so they have to go with what they can use. But I agree that the released studio versions are best.
