Rod Stewart makes the most of this classic from Jules Styne and Sammy Cahn. The orchestration and arrangement are lovely.

The great American song Book. Rod singing all the 30s, 40s, 50s classics an era where love songs were romantic & sensuous. I grew up listening to all these songs my older sister played on piano when I was 5 in the 50s, in my teens in the 60s I knew every song & fell inlove with them. Now with Rod, Michael & Harry Connick Jnr introducing them to the younger generation has become a sensational hit for those in their early & mid 30s. These are sure classics. Rods vocals are quite provocative. Iove all 3 guys mentioned here. Beautiful music.

So far this is the best rendition of the song that I've heard. Musical throughout. He gets out of his own way and let's the beauty of the song, orchestration and harmony do the work. Really lovely.

This song has been a favorite of mine for many many years and Rod does a magnificent rendition. The trumpet solo is the cherry on the cake. It is especially poignant for me because the line "the one you run to see when the day is through" because that is what my new love would do...every day and even after 8 years I can still see her come through the door with that big "I love you smile".

Timeless music. These tunes were of my Folks' Generation. Both were born of immigrant Parents and raised during the Great Depression. Dad was a WWII U.S. Army Vet, landing in Normandy, fighting in St. Lo, the Battle of the Bulge, Remagan Bridge, ultimately meeting the Russians on the Elbe River. Mom was a Rosey the Riveter type, working the factories on the East Coast supporting the War effort..... They lived the American Dream, from humble beginnings to making a comfortable life.... Both have passed away but when I hear this music it reminds me of my parents and makes me feel closer to them. After Dad passed, I gave Mom 2 of the Great American Songbook CDs, she loved them..... Thanks Rod Stewart! Since we always play these CDs back to back at our summer couples' dinner parties on the deck by the Little Spokane River..... Very sweet.... I think my grand children will be listening to this music.....

What good are words I say to you? They can't convey to you what's in my heart If you could hear instead The things Ive left unsaid Time after time I tell myself that im So lucky to be loving you So lucky to be The one you run to see In the evening, when the day is through I only know what I know The passing years will show Youve kept my love so young, so new And time after time Youll hear me say that im So lucky to be loving you

Hey Rod, if you ever get sick of that job please give it to me!! I really never researched all your songs. I think I mention that in my comments recently. Wow! These girls are all ready to marry you lol 🤣🤣 Okay so sorry I feel really bad for your wife. Penny, as you and her are a couple.❤ Your fans have to understand that, but wow what a job you've got. Do you get fan mail too? Lol. Jes 🤣🤣🕊️ hey if you want more than one wife and you want to go towards polygamy I think in Arabia they allow that lol 🤣🤣🤣 It's the song and the way you deliver it. That makes people go crazy!! Let's not go that crazy though 👍

Vicki Wong I know how you feel, do you remember the summer of Maggie Mae? Was 1971 I was 18 what a time we had. we all had long hair and lived like there would be a million tomorrows. This is my wifes computer and I know little about it. I seen your words and just had to say A word or two. I didn't know my wife way back then but I wish I could have shared my times back then. We are 65 now and she is my Maggie Mae. Rod Stewart is still cool though he wears Italian shoes and 5000 dollar suits. Anyway I'd like to think you and I helped him afford it all with our purchase of those albums along with the multitude of kids like you and me once were.

AND THIS IS ALSO BY VERY VERY VERY FAR THE BEST ( IN MY HUMBLE OPINION ) RENDITION OF THIS GREAT SONG . IT MAKES IT UNSTOPPABLE TO LISTEN TO IT , BACK TO BACK , VIRTUALLY EVERY DAY , IT STARTS MY DAY ON THE " RIGHT NOTE " EVERY DAY , VERY INSPIRATIONAL , INDEED . I CAN LISTEN TO IT FROM DAY ON END , WITHOUT EVER ( !!!!!!!!!! ) STOPPING - THAT IS HOW INCREDIBLE , MARVELLOUS , INSPIRATIONAL , AND INCOMPARABLE IT IS . BRAVO , MY DEAR ROD STEWART . AND THANK YOU VERY VERY VERY MUCH !!!!!!
