We spotted the Roe deer in a stubble field as we pitched up at the farm. After getting the kit on, we stalked around the edge of the adjacent field, using the hedge line as cover. We crawled the last 15m. The deer were 120m away up the side of the next field, lying down between the bouts of straw. As Cammy moved the last few feet to take the shot, the deer jumped up. Cammy laid down, aimed and took the shot. I was on my hands and knees behind him, so didn't get a chance to video.
After getting the deer sorted out, we went to sit out for a fox I had seen several times before, including the previous evening.
I had hoped to get Cammy a shot as he has never shot a fox before. However, it appeared on my side of the strip of wood, out of sight of Cammy, running through the sheep around 200m away. It all happened so quickly, once again I didn't get the chance to video. Need more hands I think!
I laid down behind the rifle, followed the fox in the scope, and squeaked. The fox stopped, turned to look over it's shoulder and I took the shot.
I had been after this fox for weeks. I knew it was the same one, as it has very distinctive spots on it's rear legs.
