That intro was dope. I have the Ally and I also have the Ayaneo with the 60 Hz 1200p screen and the Steam Deck with the 60Hz 800p screen. In my opinion, the 1080p 120Hz screen on the Ally is far more useful and practical than the 1200p 60Hz screen or 800p 60Hz screen on the Steam Deck because of the lower framerate when playing in 1200p and the limitation of 800p. Plus the Ally screen is VRR so it adjusts the refresh rate to the actual framerate so it looks very smooth. The screen is one of the best features of the Ally. Additionally, with the 16:10 screens found on the Ayaneo and AOKZOE and Steam Deck you end up with black bars on the top and bottom when playing games that don't support 16:10 or when using PS Remote Play which only supports 16:9. My Ayaneo came with 32 GB of RAM and that alone is Overkill and not really necessary so 64 GB is super Overkill and really not needed for gaming. The battery is one area where I felt like the Ally should have done better. But I also love how light the Ally is in the hands. I love how my Ayaneo came with the three ports. I really feal like the Ally should have had at least one more port. However, in the eGPU department with the XG Mobile connection it kills every other handheld when it comes to bandwidth between the eGPU and the handheld because thunderbolt has a bandwidth limitation. Sorry this comment is so long. I wrote it as I watched and I watched the entire video. Keep up the good work!

Thank you for the support and the detailed comment. I agree with you that the screen on the Ally is top of it's class and deserves to be highly rated. Being 16:9 (native landscape) takes compatibility to pretty much 100%.

You're killing it with the number of videos you're dishing out thanks. If you have the devices I'd be interested in an FPS comparison for a few games (maybe COD, Hogwarts Legacy and Cyberpunk) between the AyaNeo 2 (non-S with the 6800u) and ROG Ally with latest bios updates at the maxed out plugged-in wattages. Then the AyaNeo 2S as well if you have it. Given that the ROG Ally seems to be around 10-20% slower than the AyeNeo 2, I'm interested to see whether the ROG Ally is really that much faster than the original Ayeneo 2 now that the bios is more stable on both machines.

The ally screen with vrr is such a big deal and no one else really says anything about it and just lost it off as a feature. I can play modern games at max 1080 even if I’m at 40fps or under it looks exactly like 60 with no hiccups at all.

VRR is something special can’t tell you how many times I’ve been playing a game at 40fps thinking it’s 60fps. Spiderman remastered is a good example while swinging around town it can dip frequently. It’s noticeable on the steam deck even at 40hz but on the ally it looks remarkably smooth. That said I’m not a fan of the ally’s performance against the 7840u when amd/asus claim it’s the same exact chip spec wise

Like just best to worst to gimme an opinion so i can get help making decision. Just kinda wondering if one of the companies is worse than the others in general in terms or daily usability. Thanks brother! Mostly i want one i can do video editing with too when connected to a monitor
@BarelyAverageDude

Thanks for your support bro, really appreciate it. From your list I would go KUN, A1 Pro, X1, 1xFly, A2* Depending on your budget the X1 could actually move up the list if you are interested in the OXP eGPU. That could connect with Oculink and give you a lot more power for video editing. Of course the other devices would be better for gaming, but if gaming is secondary then having a 3in1 could be good for your use case. What do you think?
@According2AshShow
5 ай бұрын
@@BarelyAverageDude ya it's not necessarily that gaming is secondary, it's just that I'd like something that can be a jack of all trades, while still being unique and not just another laptop, I actually really like the X1 but all the Intel talk got me shook on whether or not it's actually worth it? Gaming wise? Without the egpu that is. U really think the A2 is bottom of the list tho huh, too bad cuz aesthetically I think it looks super clean. The kun was my first choice honestly but having the Go which is also large I thought maybe I should get something smaller, but maybe I should just go Kun
@BarelyAverageDude
5 ай бұрын
@@According2AshShow it's not that the A2 is technically bad, it's just that something had to be last on the list. If you want something small what about the GPD win mini? @According2AshShow

@@BarelyAverageDude I liked the idea of it like a year ago but the ergo seemed not so good and then after watching ur vid I was certain, that's why I honestly got rid of my ally cuz I had that first and the fingerprint scanner and screen and white color all great but the sticks felt kinda meh and it felt more toyish than "elegant" if u kno what I'm saying, and I'm really not snobby about sticks and d pad and all that but the overall package just didn't fully resonate with me the way I had hoped it would so I returned it and the SD OLED (too weak but excellent ergo) and kept the Go, but I like to get new toys now and then and keeps things fresh so Im craving something new added to the arsenal. Is the X1 really terrible for newer games in ur opinion? I'm not snobby so I don't trip on fps, just want a smooth experience, cuz I'm kinda settling on that or Kun or maybe A2 (just really like the aesthetics) but not sure which is best all arounder, I'm thinking Kun tho
@BarelyAverageDude
5 ай бұрын
@@According2AshShow yeah the X1 performance is pretty bad right now in modern games. Like if I get 60fps on the KUN I get 40-45fps on the X1 and that’s while using more power (25w vs 35w) And it’s not just the performance that is bad, some games have graphical glitches that really impact the experience. I just can’t recommend an Intel handheld over an AMD one right now; especially not over the Kun. BUT if you’re willing to go for the ride and see where the Intel drivers are in a few months then that’s your choice to make. The X1 is NOT BAD, but it’s just lacking as a gaming device compared to what’s available.

If you intend to upgrade your console storage down the line, it is far cheaper with the Aokzoe since it uses full size M.2 Nvme which goes up to 4TB in storage compared to the half-length cards that maxes out at 2TB but costs about the same. Also, the Ally has a major design defect in that one of the heat pipes lies on top of the SD card slot, eventually baking your card to death causing data corruption or complete loss. As far as screen is concerned, it would have been a better choice to use OLED rather than a high refresh rate monitor, alas neither made such a choice.
