0:40 That return Federer hits off his shoelaces. The amount of power he gets from just his technique and sheer racket speed is ridiculous. How fast that came back across the net set up the rest of the point. Unbelievable how hard to hit a shot like that is.

I was at this match roger was injured, gave away a lot of early points with terrible misses, then got control of himself and finished it off. IT was a rainy night, so the roof in Ashe was closed, and all the other courts' matches were cancelled.....which made it great the next night......there were so many matches to be completed that the schedule was backed up past midnight! some of the "day" matches lasted past the main night matches on Ashe! We saw Caroline Wozniacki lose to....can't remebmer who....on a side court...it went past midnight.

Looking at the match now, it does seem clear that Federer was physically limited. He wasn’t getting his normal velocity on the ball, especially on the backhand side. Frances played great, for sure, but it definitely seemed like Fed wasn’t playing with his normal explosiveness.

Rafael Mertin well sorry to burst your bubble but I ain’t a fed fan, but when tiafoe is playing up the middle of the half every shot then the highlights are gonna be feds. Just cuz you hate that fed makes great looking shots doesn’t mean that the video is a die hard fed vid.
@TheRafaelBond
4 жыл бұрын
@@alexanderbudde8858 clearly you cant see what the issue is with this video. tiafoe produced numerous winners for the first break, so it werent just great shots, but they were also extremely vital to the match's progress.
@physicsguybrian
2 жыл бұрын
@@TheRafaelBond Technically it was exactly a depiction of the match in terms of punch/counter-punch and set outcomes. Had Tiafoe battled and WON this match then the choice of clips would have naturally contained more of Tiafoe's play BECAUSE there would be more of his play to highlight. The fact that Federer was the player that overcame and won is why the key clips were more centered around his play and, of course, there were more instances where Federer won key points - else, obviously, he would have lost. These highlights showed many of Tiafoe's excellent court play clips and IMO more than enough to demonstrate why he was a force to be reckoned with and why Federer had to battle a five setter. If someone wants more than that, then they should just watch the entire match. It's called "highlights" not "equal number of clips 'cause ya should"! If you really think no effort was put into making this highlight video then start your own youtube channel and show us all how it's done. Otherwise, try your best to appreciate the work of others and help make the world a better place one kind act/gesture at a time.
