Ritchie B is a definite genius!!!!!! Purple is also the most underrated band of ALL TIME, yea, even perhaps the G.O.A.T! Their catalog covers almost all modern forms of Rock & Roll, and most bands after their time cite DP as a formative influence. I was watching some very old (Made in Japan) R.B. Solos, and he was a forerunner of the awesome Eddie VanHalen, he was doing stuff that Eddie mimicked years later!! PURE GENIUS. But he'd never admit he was. I also appreciate how Morse does not try to imitate, but "interpret" Ritchie. It's always a respectful Performance of the classic Purple! This band will still be together at 100 years old for some of the MkII gang 😂😂

What an excellent comment from Glover. 'It's not personal, it's business' - one of the greatest quotes in the world of business. I particularly enjoyed Glover's final words to this interview at 9:00, 'so it's good to be in a consistent band you know each other really well and there's no you know you get you RESPECT EACH OTHER and LOVE EACH OTHER'...thank you Roger Glover Lover you are indeed one of the finest members of Rainbow - and for me Deep Purple.

was a wrong move replacing him with tommy bolin... i love him on purple but he did what he could, ritchies departure was fresh back then, so no matter what tommy could ve done, ritchie was massively missed. but if deep purple never had ritchie and had bolin instead, its fair to assume no one, even ritchie could ve replaced bolin, tommy was that phenomenon on his own. tommy and steve happen to have the toughest work with ritchies shadow, but that ghost was mannageable when gillan took over dp so morse didnt have to deal with what tommy went through. and yes, obviously ritchies in the top undisputedly for dp for me. and indeed irreplaceable.

Blackmore belonged to the latter category, as evidenced by the fact that even Ronnie James Dio never even spoke to him during his first two years with Rainbow. But as with actors, you need learn to separate their talent from their personalities, which are often quite different. That said, the fact that Blackmore refused to even attend the Hall's induction proves the man's utter failure as a decent human being, a man totally incapable of leaving past disagreements behind.

To say that Steve may be the longest running member of the band, before stating "at least on guitar", is proof. It's almost ironic that Roger spoke about how pissed off that he was when Nick Simper wasn't included as a part of Deep Purple's induction. Then you look at Rush, which Roger spoke about, and there was no mention of John Rutsey, who was Rush's original drummer. Had Geddy and Alex never met Neil Peart, Rush may have just faded into the cracks of neighborhood bars and festivals. Then you can look at Kiss, when they were inducted, Peter Criss was included in Kiss's induction, years after a very bitter departure from the band. I thought it was insanely childish of the band to refuse to play on stage with Peter. I lost a ton of respect for Gene and Paul that night. I did like it when Heart was inducted, Ann and Nancy played a few songs with their original band, who they were inducted with, and then they brought their current band on stage, and they all played together very nicely. Their parents and school teachers had to have been so proud of them for their behavior, especially when you compare them to Kiss. It amazes me when I think about this, I'm 57 years old, this planet is BILLIONS of years old, and not only did all these amazingly talented people exist at the same time and in various places, and fate brought them together to form a band, but I also got to go to countless numbers of concerts, and see these people perform their magic, because I existed with them at the same time, and in various places.

Perfect Strangers, and House of the Blue Light we're both phenomenal albums, and we're the pinnacle of Deep Purple for this lineup, in my own opinion as a fan since the beginning. For me, the only time i wasn't into the band was during Bolins time, though he was a very versatile musician, his style just didn't work for me in Purple. And as far as Steve Morse, ive been a fan of hos since the Dixie Dregs, but only one song with him felt truly in line with the Purple vibe, and that was "picture of Innocence" Other than that, it also just didn't work for me.

Sometimes I feel like screaming, haunted, walk on , are just three great songs that you can hum away too, don’t get me wrong I think purple today is just the Ian gillan band when Jon lord left that was it for me , but they have had a few decent songs without Blackmore, morse is still belting them out with the guitar, Ritchie is a shadow of his former self you only have to see the recent formation of rainbow to see that and it sounds painful, Blackmore love him or hate him has been a giant in the world of rock, but he spent too much time doing his medieval rock and took his foot off the gas, and its been to long to try to come back and carry on with the rainbow banner, he hated graham bonnets hair and it was a massive thing for Blackmore that bonnet have long hair and fit in, now in rainbow he has a drummer with a Mohegan hair style on a little tin pot drum kit, a bass player who seems like he dunno what he’s doing, a keyboard player that was a giant with malmsteen , who can’t play anymore no passion or heart, and a singer trying to be Ronnie dio, graham bonnet and joe lynn turner, and David Coverdale and Glenn Hughes...we all grow old, and time marches on, so these guys should bow out, deep purples long goodbye tour ended years ago, gillan can’t sing anymore, but they have dates for gigs in 2021, they’re in their 70,s blimey how much money do you guys want, retire, enjoy your money, you,ve earned it, people have been inspired by you and respect you worldwide, but have a break... enjoy life, see your families, pets, enjoy your houses, cars, spend some money... before its too late .. you don’t wanna be the richest guy in the graveyard... then again.... fame is a dangerous thing
