Roger Linn actually designed the Ableton Push in a way which uses some of his MPC ideas and some of his Linnstrument ideas. He also designed the Maschine in a way and also the MC-707 and all the groove boxes that came around after his design hit. What an absolute genius of all time.

I would love if Akai added accessibility to the new MPCsIt really shouldn't require too much more than studying how apple implemanted accessibility/screen reader usage in iOS. Currently I use a 2500... How I do, long story short, is just interface memorization, definitely not the best workaround, but I am getting things done to a very satisfactory level for me. PEACE 🫡

Already the fanboys are shouting “I can’t wait for a new Roger linn mpc” shut up already, you guys are the problem; asking for new shit because you can’t rock the current or past shit. The man just said how good the MPC Live 2 is and how good it sounds . Nothing about the ones from the past sounding better or comparing his legendary Unit to it other than giving props for keeping his original workflow and buttons along with advanced features. You fanboys are as ridiculous as Radio Raheem on his channel screaming about converters and beefing with Andy Mac then saying Andy Mac is the greatest thing since sliced bread then have guys like dj oremier promote a phantom narrative about converters because he didn’t get a special edition mpc and Ave Mcree did. I’ll tell it like it is. Thenk god this converter shit is laid to rest. Kenny dope from masters at work also gave the original mpc x props and rocked a track on the x live at a master class. Akai are doing the right things putting mpcs in the hands of legends like Roger linn and Kenny Dope both not content producers but actually technical engineers and actual published producer with a catalog of current music that people are buying. About time!

I saw people commenting on Facebook that he didn't address any shortcomings and therefore they must've paid him off. It's not like he has to be aware of every MPC model that came out after the 3000. He was probably blown away at how far ahead they've evolved his creation. The 3000 didn't load keygroups, didn't have plug ins or even effects for that matter. People need to see the forest from the trees
@LitCrease

He kinda addressed in the beginning that he had beef with the old Japan-based Akai but was kool with American Akai and enjoyed the free quality product - which was probably sent as a peace offering. It went over people's heads, though

@@LitCrease I somehow missed that he said that. I watched the video from Linn's own KZitem channel as well. Even without that, people should be grateful that he even took the time to say anything about the current MPCs. People can be so entitled sometimes that it's disgusting.

Yup, didn't look like that was paid to me at all. Though he only ALLUDED to the beef he had with Akai, something everyone would have missed if they didn't know the history. As a fan of the mpc line myself, I would think that he would be gobsmacked at what it can do now, and at that price. Must have been a reality check next to his LinnStrument. And I would think he would be proud that his offspring is so ubiquitous now, despite the beef. Linn will always be a hero to me though. I just bought an AdrenaLinn end of last year.

13:11 They sent him the unit, he keep the unit, plus he promoted his product at the same time. You can't see the potential for bias here. he's at a place in his life were he values peace over anything and everything. Besides large corporations know if you bash their products without proof, they can sue you for damages. R.L. don't want that kind of smoke, so he kept it politically correct and went for the win-win. I'm not mad at him at all.

Honestly I've always felt the "DAW-in-a-box" allegations have been way overstated. I was able to jump right into the same workflow on the Live 2 that I used a decade prior on the MPC 1000, and while I think that improvements could be made to lessen the dependence on the touchscreen and some sequence arrangement issues that need to be hammered out, it still feels like an MPC to me, just with built-in plugins and modern QOL features like wifi and USB.
