What Scruton has entirely missed out, is the visual research aspect of pictorial modernism and what artists like Matisse and Malevich attempted to achieve with pictorial means. Post-Modernism says no rules, therefore all value can be reduced to merely a currency and the currency makers can turn art into the rag trade, where kitsch art can ape revolution, as cultural emblem rather than pictorial device, whatever political turmoil, a new emblem romance, more emblem sales. However, as Greenberg said in 'Avant Garde and Kitsch, the avant garde restore value in such times of cultural confusion by re-stating the facts of the matter. I am that avant garde and these are the facts of the matter; the geometric unifying theory of art: www.researchgate.net/publication/341552717_The_Ultimate_Art_Statement

That Scrutton wanted to use his argument for purposes of future reflection, from a conservative perspective defending the socio-political values of the old regime, is evident. This argument in defense of conservationism, conservatism and tradition, has some "very very weak points" well-known by their opponents, who have automated an apparatus full of traps, censorship and blockade against the rebellion and have exploited it against them. The current system of life does not take into account art, high culture, nor beauty, and In part, there are some compelling reasons why idealism has failed and is betrayed in this world that is heading towards the abyss. Nor does the cultured aristocratic character have enough support in our time, it is a mistake to lack tact when approaching reality. and way of thinking of young people, it is a mistake to judge them or make them feel guilty and not interfere in understanding the concerns of the middle and lower classes, it was naive in seeking support in the fishing grounds of the upper classes, because within the new technocratic elites , there is only betrayal and mortal enemies to be found. After he died, you can see without a doubt that he was a person with solid principles, weighed down by some outdated inheritances, but wrong or not, in certain areas where he did not have the resources to face the opponent, he gave his opinion and a totally valid position. to think about the art and culture inherited in our days, in a brave way against the current. Now the world is incredibly even worse, with war between Russia and Ukraine, massive fentanyl in the USA, economic crisis in Europe and in Israel-Middle East about to explode.

Ir was also a serious strategic error to direct his message only in English to the Anglo-sphere, which is corrupted and usurped from within by atrocious materialism, and where they are exclusively interested in money, comfort in vices and egocentrism. His elegant mentality , their know-how and traditional values must be directed to countries with structures with an old and deep history like Spain, that is, with Spanish it would have covered Europe and Latin America.

The United States maintained respect for Spain due to things like the Hispanic society with Velazquez, Goya or Sorolla, as well as our cultural heritage, customs inherited in the southern half that were founded by Spaniards. We Europeans love the America that gave birth to Hooper, Wyeth, which was the new deal, we felt that genuine American voice fresh but determined, with all the spirit. We urgently have to stand up in firm support, help and correct each other, but with love and humor as Elvis would say...hehe there is no Another possible option, we are brothers of cultural heritage and mentality, we must stop fighting over small differences, envy or compare each other, let us make a new agreement of peace and collaboration, overcoming the emptiness of materialistic individualistic sense or the complaint of crying over spilled milk and see how to correct and start a correct project. It's either that or in 50 years we will be destroyed by the abundant enemies, the internal infiltrators will usurp us and then by the external ones and replaced by stupid aggressive fundamentalists who believe they are taking revenge or justice.

Piss Christ isn't just a crucifix pickled in urine, it's a genuinely beautiful photograph. If you see the real thing rather than just read about it you'll know the difference. You hear the title and assume the purpose is simply to shock without actually judging the actual photo. There is nothing degrading about the image and if you didn't know what it was it would never occur to you. A great deal of the art is in the developing technique used. This is being intellectually lazy. I must say, though, he has a lot of good points. Again with Cage he has shown that he has completely missed the point of 4'33" of "silence". The work isn't about silence at all, it is about ambient sound and what you hear when you really listen. Every performance is different and meant to open the ears of the listener. The PIANIST is meant to be silent, the concert hall is not at all, you hear the audience members breathing, murmuring, maybe giggling, the ventillation system, noises from oustide, at Carnegie Hall the subwah below, maybe your own tinnitus or heartbeat, etc. it is hardly silent. If you know Cage's other work or his influence on other artists like Alan Kaprow you know he is no fake and has put in a great deal of his time learning his craft, and in some cases years putting together some of his tape pieces. He is no Any Warhol. Pollack once again he totally misses. His art is about rhythm and very much color and is not random splashes at all. many people have tried to imitate him thinking that's what it was and fell on their faces. Pollack took a long time to get where he got, just like Scruton says an artist should. Beauty? So much of Beethoven isn't beautiful at all, it's ugly and threatening, but still great art. Beauty is a red herring as a measurement of artistic value.

Yeah - it's all rubbish... modern rubbish. Don't bother, it's all gone to the dogs... Scruton and Adorno - cultural pessimists, strange to put them shoulder to shoulder! His reading of Shakespeare is entirely wrong - there is no argument for the 'genuine' in Shakespeare. His plays are about the presentation of reality and the vulnerability that that necessarily brings (All the world plays the actor etc.). Scruton is trying to appropriate the arts for a conservative apologia - it won't work. Dickens isn't a bourgeois realist, Shakespeare isn't a realist at all. Poor Roger doesn't seem to understand the word 'play'. Trying to make a case for art as some kind of political mimesis is doomed, cos it just aint so...
