Excellent discussion, gentlemen! I agreed with pretty much every point you made here. Particularly how ANDOR Season 1 has made Rogue One an even better film than it originally was. I’m sure that Season 2 will take this enhancement even further. And I hope that Gilroy finds a way to bring back Felicity Jones to appear as Jyn Erso in the story in the later episodes (even though we know that she doesn’t cross paths with Cassian, Mon Mothma*, etc. until the movie). *Special kudos to Genevieve O’Reilly, for fleshing out the character of Mon Mothma so compellingly. Taking her from a peripheral character in Return Of The Jedi, into one of the most important and influential characters of the Rebellion. 🙂

Very enjoyable discussion and I agree that in general Rogue One was a success. My only big criticisms are about pacing and dialogue/cliches. I thought the first third dragged a bit for me even though I’m happy enough to wallow in the atmosphere of a ‘serious’ Star Wars film. My other negative was some of the dialogue not being Gilroyed enough. I thought the Yavin IV rebel debate was pretty trite and the closing ‘hope’ was a bit too on the nose for me. Agree on the CG actors not quite working and the unnecessary cantina duo cameo. I love the K2SO theory! Finally, when talking about knitting R1 together with the Andor show, have you seen the little notebook strapped to the front of Cassian’s jacket in Rogue One? Perhaps Nemik’s Manifesto!
