Hi did you find a solution for the clutch switch. Can’t seem to find any follow up. I have a kTM 390 Adventure and second switch is faulty. Would like to bypass if possible. Thanks Ian.

Hi Ian, no follow up because this is the correct method. Just turn the switch to find the setting that works - you can double check just by removing the switch and playing to make sure it works on your bike.

do you have to take off grips and instrument to take off clutch perch? cant you jus unscrew the bolts?
@MotoMirius

That's what I thought too. In practice it only takes a couple of minutes to remove the grip and control.

What do you do with the clutch sensor to start your bike in gear as i see alot of people just taping the two ends together in electrical tape but ive also hear this can cause issues with idle revving and other things. Does this clutch come with the ability to plug the sensors in?
@MotoMirius
2 жыл бұрын
Clutch sensor is a switch on this bike - its either on or off. On one setting the bike starts, on the other setting it doesn't - choose the one where it starts and tuck the clutch switch and wire inside the headlight housing - job done. There is no logic as to why it would cause issues with idle revving etc, it's a safety switch to prevent the bike starting in gear. No, the clutch doesn't come with the ability to plug in sensors, though I guess it should be possible to fit one - but I've owned many bikes without a switch and unless you are revving the bike hard when pressing the starter button there isn't an issue.

Great video as usual David. I've got the Rok Bagoros Magura handlebars in the post was, going to as which easy pull clutch leaver would be the best to get but you answered that in the vid. The Magura handlebars, are the the same as the stock at the end closed off or are they open just for a set of R&G bar sliders I've had for a while
@MotoMirius
3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Mark. Magura handlebars are standard i.e. open, so standard bar ends (not stock) will fit.

@@MotoMirius is it the 12cm or the 10cm easy pull clutch leaver you have as I'm struggling to get the 12m & worried that the 10cm would be a bit too short with the indicator & horn control bundle
@MotoMirius

@@markmitchell8448 I have the two finger. You may be able to fit the shorter lever on the grip side of the controls and just slide the controls up a bit - check on the bike if this would be workable.

Does the clutch lever make it better?
@MotoMirius
4 жыл бұрын
Good question. Does it make the clutch operate better - not really. Does it look cooler - yes. Seriously though, I only ever use two fingers on the clutch so it suits my riding style and if you ever fancied doing stand up wheelies where you can't use the rear brake with your foot then it allows you to use the other fingers to pull in a secondary rear brake lever without the clutch lever getting in the way. Do you keep the original to bring it back to stock or flip it?
@MotoMirius

Always keep the original. Most people want to buy stock bikes - they don't want something that someone has messed with - unless you are building something to order.

Have you heard about the theory of how resetting your ECU you have to start the bike and let it run 15min vertically (on a stand) without touching it, then turn off and restart? From what i've read many comment said it work
@MotoMirius
4 жыл бұрын
15 minute reset is for 2012 to 2016 bikes. It's 10 minutes for the 2017 onwards bikes. It isn't a theory - it is a feature built in by KTM. It doesn't need to be vertical, it just needs to run untouched at idle. For most bikes it will not change anything as the ECU will already be correctly set. If it does change the it indicates something is wrong with your bike (such as improper exhaust alterations) and if you don't fix that then the ECU will apply the same adjustments as it had before you reset it. @MotoMirius

There is a switch on the stock lever. It tells the ECU if the clutch lever is pulled or not. If not pulled then the ECU will not allow the bike to be started in gear. So if you remove the stock lever you must click the switch onto the right setting that allows the bike to start when in gear.
