Does the JX08 have the Polysynth Patch like the original ?

Could not agree more! I don't mean to sound pretentious in any way, but until you have spent time with a big vintage (& some modern) analog polysynth, you simply cannot comprehend. I know this because I experienced this realization myself... It was a literal awakening. No digital emulation can compare to what analog can do (as of yet). If you have not been able to compare both directly & in person, you cannot have an informed or unbiased opinion. From the OBXa or Voyetra 8 to the Polysix or JX-8P, the sound of digital emulations simply do not compare to their analog counterparts (especially synths with 2+ osc. per voice). This is not bias, it is fact. And I do not mean to imply that the digital versions sound worse, that is subjective, but they definitely sound different. Also, you CAN tell the difference in a mix, do not let confirmation bias cloud judgement!

People still pretend they can tell the difference between VA and analogue lol. There are plenty soft synths that sound just as good and in some cases better than it’s analogue counterpart. This isn’t one of them though.

JX8P has definitely more definition and dynamic... That's a shame indeed. I like the boutique format... I actually like the JD08 for creating ambient patches. But for analog emulation, you do need the extra edge that the JX08 is missing... Anyway, the PG8X is good enough for me now.

Yay! Got it right and it seems even with the right reasoning ;) Love the in-boxing part at the end, maybe a new trend on youtube after all the un-boxing videos?

I already thought about doing an Inboxing channel! But I‘m not sure how long Thomann will play the game! 😎😁

@@winesynths easy peasy: create a label "approved and inboxed by Wine&Synths", tell Thomann to sell the sent back synths for 10 EUR above the original price with this label and donate these 10 EUR to some charity organisation... win-win-win ;)

I think the JX-08 might’ve tempted me - for 5 minutes. It might’ve appealed to me because of the realtime controllers vs. needing the PG-800 or a MIDI programmer, but that was the only real appeal. Ironically, the only Boutique model that Roland [hasn’t built yet]: a VP-330 vocoder emulation.

I’m not sure how I feel about the JX-08 sound yet. It sounds more like a JX10 emulation to my ears. Looking at it as a JX8P remake it does disappoint. I’m trying looking at it as a modern synth with some classic JX style and flavor and from that stance I don’t think it sounds bad at all. It’s actually a really fun synth with its layering and 2 part real time sequencer. They just shouldn’t have released it as a JX8P clone. I do like this little synth though.

To me, what's more important is that the JX-08 gives me the feeling that my Juno-106 did, which the JU-06A doesn't, so I ordered a JX-08.

The JX-08 sounds nothing like a JX-8P. Another crappy analog emulation from Roland. That "insert-another-three-random-letters-of-the-alphabet-here" marketing technology fails miserably, yet again. Are those Japanese software engineers all deaf or what?
