That SPD sounds fuckin' awesome 👍. I don't play drums but I think this unit would be a great addition to any drummers arsenal. Nice demo BOB.

Fabulous demo...I think it has sold me on this versus the TR-8s, which while I understand it's a bit of a different animal, I more often prefer to PLAY percussion sounds than to sequence them, but it's nice to still have the ability to loop now and then.

Thank you but,I'm not sequencing anything,I'm playing every note. Glad you liked it!

Oh no, sorry, I didn't mean to say you were sequencing, I was referring to using a TR-8s drum machine. I've been torn whether to get an SPD-30 or TR-8s, and I decided on the SPD-30 since I "play" more live than I do sequence a pattern (which is what the TR-8s does best), but the added benefit of a phrase looper in the SPD-30 convinced me that I could have the functionality of both. Thanks again!

Thank you. It's a great machine to be creative with. I will be making more videos with the SPD-30 in the near future.

I think the SPD30 is the best all round electronic pad. The looper with 3 levels and quantize just make it so much more interesting compared to the other ones out there. I only wish it could load more sounds. Other than that it is the best one imho, (The Alesis Strike is close, but looper more limited (one channel) and no quantize.

hi Bob. it's a great demo...am a new musician and I have bought a SPDS 30 and I find it difficult to make such beautiful sounds like the one u have...Is it possible to get a copy of the drums you have and how can we do that...please and thank you 😊

Great demo Bob!! As a percussionist I’ve recently acquired the pad and find it challenging. How did you master the rhythms, was it trial and error or some other means via tutorials? Or just an extension of your experience as a competent musician

Thanks C! It was the latter...I transferred the rudiments I've learned on the practice pad and moved them around over the Octapad.

Started with Ableton live, not tactile enough, went to mini korg analog synths-too simple. Looking for a hybrid that will be tactile. I think this could be the solution. I hated the latency issues of Ableton with drum trigger. Can I use this as a instrument, but still record with Ableton. need to feel more. Can I Input my own sounds to trigger? Newbie thanks

I would say yes to both questions. It's very tactile and dynamic.

You can't import to the SPD-30, as far as I know at least. You can, however, import to the SPD-SX.

No one makes absolute use of SPD-30's except the indians, This is a good demo but it doesnt have any playing except that he was randomly hitting the pads. Most of the western countries think this as a sound effects pad for drums more than an instrument itself.
