I tried the 17-KVX today at a music store and the playability and sound really kicked ass compared to my present Alesis Crimson Mesh that I hope to get rid of soon, even if Alesis makes visually nice drum-sets, there has not been one upgrade for 2 years and they dont play nor sounds that great. OK- the new 17 KVX is a bit more expensive, but from my point of view, its definatly worth the price difference.

Hi Mike, you're very welcome - thank you for watching and your kind words. I chose a Mapex throne for comfort combined with being reasonably priced (compared to roc-n-soc for example). Hi Vincenzo. Thanks for watching. Kick pedals are designed to 'clamp' onto the rim of the kick drum. Using the same approach, you'll be able to clamp it to the kick pad on your kit. Hope this helps :)

Been thinking of getting an electronic set: been playing an old 1980 Sonor acoustic that sounds great, but pretty loud in the middle of the night.... Nice review.

Hi SweetDragon. Thanks for watching and for your kind words. My first kit in the 80's was a Sonor 4 piece...they're lovely kits!

@@davidmearsuk My first set was a champagne ludwig I purchased in 68' and it was a good set, but couldn't hold a candle to the Sonor quality. This set is incredible: just finished playing through the 50 sets and fighting back blisters. ;-)

Ok thanks for the reply. I have a lovely Bose L1 compact PA i gig with and wasn’t sure if I could play the drums through it. Or if I could use my Roland Street cube. It just sounded good on your video! Thanks for replying.

@@tooncraft3d Hi Joseph. Fantastic that you're getting your kit tomorrow, and your timing couldn't be better (a good thing for a drummer!) I've just uploaded a video about how to calibrate the VH10 Hi-Hat pad: kzitem.info/news/bejne/xISauGeah5aDfqA In my next video, I'm planning to cover importing samples and assigning them to the pads. It's a great kit!

Great set up. Now... Please review USING the module. Please go through adding user samples and altering them. Velocity hits on user samples can trigger different things!! Please show all this. Not enough td-17 reviews talk about what’s important! Thanks.

Hi Jim! Thank you for your comment, much appreciated & exactly the type of feedback I need to create the type of videos drummers would like to see. It'll take me a while to plan and create, but I'll endeavour to cover the points you mention as soon as I can for you. Thanks again.

Hi Jim, hope you had a great Christmas. I finally found time to make a new video which explains how to import and assign user samples on the TD17: kzitem.info/news/bejne/0WecqZtrnXalZWU Hope you find it helpful. I think you've already seen my VH10 Hi-Hat Pad Calibration video, but just in case: kzitem.info/news/bejne/xISauGeah5aDfqA All the best :)

Thanks for posting this, I'm saving up for this kit so it's good to know how it ships. Can't wait to get off the HD1 I'm playing now, it's fine but way too small for my stature.
