Congrats on 100 videos, even though I've only been here for a couple of them so far. Here's to another 100! I was wondering if Watches of Switzerland or one of the other ADs down in here in Melbourne was insane enough to lend out this model, glad you've got friends with deep pockets! I'm more of a 36mm fluted, steel Datejust kinda guy myself. Maybe I'll be able to get one new some day. Here's hoping one of the 3 new factories Rolex is making will make mine

Thanks and yes, it'd be a cold day in hell before I got to borrow one from an AD haha. It's good to have friends with luxury watch hobbies!

I quite like this. Nothing special beyond a surprise, playful dial from a coveted and consistent, reliably steady brand. Pity only deep pocketed consumers and celebs will flex it.

Thank you! And yes, even if we could pretty please buy one at retail it's still a lot even then (not to mention almost impossible). Thanks for watching :)

Congratulations on making so much great content. Another enjoyable watch of a still unexpectedly fun watch. The most significant remark for me, however, came in the form of Grand Seiko's presumed dissatisfaction with those circles. Insignificant the imperfections may be, but the difference in approach and ethics is very significant. Taking that to heart, one understands the price rises of Grand Seiko all the more, but also the important observation that these watches could be enjoyed so much more with a hardening treatment. In the case of Rolex it particularly fits their sports and adventure lines (though I think all watches would ideally have this, especially when done like Sinn), and in the case of Grand Seiko it would recognise how much of their brand's reputation is built around zaratsu polishing, which I'd be scared to damage picking it up from the box! Whether I agree that Rolex should cater for the demand more... well, it would seem to make some business sense, but I'm not sure they can be blamed for the strange market workings. What they should actively seek to stop are these feigned exclusive and off-putting dealership and waiting list practices. I would find that more important to change my opinion and interest of the brand.

Well said and excellent points as usual. I know with my Grand Seiko I've used accepted that it will be scratched and moved won with my life :)
