Meet Janneke from the Netherlands We have asked a Carbon Ultralight owner to tell us about her life with a rollator and how she deals with the mobility challenges in her daily life.
I have a bad back, used to use a walking staff but it has become so bad I can no longer walk with it. When you said you have freedom to walk again thats exactly how I felt. With the rollator I can walk the park and be outside again. The seat is great because my back gives out after a hundred yards or so. Then a little rest and off I go again! 😂 At first I was self conscious about using it, but now I don't care what anyone thinks, besides it looks great and a lot of people say that.

Thank you for putting out this video. I'm getting ready to purchase a rollator. Using a walker indoors has been a lifesaver and relieved me of so much pain. I look forward to getting my rollatorr so I can get outside and take walks. It feels incredible to be able to walk again without pain and limping. (Even if I have to use a piece of equipment.)

I am much older than you and when my Neurologist suggested a rollator I resisted. When visiting my mother-in-law I tried using her rollator just to check it out. My husband said that I walked with more confidence and I’ve been using a rollator ever since. Because I am older and have gray hair, most who comment are near my age and are very encouraging.

I since bought this rollator and have been using it for the last 5 months; it’s been absolutely Amazing! My posture and movement is much better with this because I can move right into it, no bending over or leaning to one side when using heavy rollators and walking stick.

I totally understand what this lady is talking about because I also use a cane and a clunky rollator,. I’m on here because I’m thinking of buying one of these new Scandinavian model she’s using but at around £500 each, I can’t allow myself to be too impulsive!

Very reluctantly I bought the overlander and love it. I don’t use it indoors but it’s given me confidence when out with family.

There's such a mental stigmna with using a walker. The typical model makes me feel so old and broken down. I'm only mid-50's so its been a mental adjustment and ive hated how using one makes me feel. I like the look of the overland model. It doesn't look like a "walker" so I think for me, mentally, it would be worth the money.

I've just bought one as I like the look of it, but I can't understand why all the accessories have to be purchased separately when this walker is 5 times the price of walkers that come with everything

Hi. Thank you for your message. It's actually quite simple. We want to make sure people only pay for the accessories they need. So instead of adding the costs of a bundle to a rollator, we think it is better people customize it the way that they want. Not every body wants or needs a back rest or a cane holder for example. And paying for it without needing it would be a shame.

@@byacre I'm guessing it's because it's made from carbon as maybe people don't want all the items with the rollators 5 times cheaper but at least they get them thrown in and don't have to use them. I suppose it's like buying a top of the range Honda civic or buying a bottom of the range Lamborghini

Is this rollator also perfect for older and heavier people. We need a new one for my grandma. Can this rollator also absorb vibration as well? She got a new shoulder, so heavy vibration is bad for her. I would be glad to get answers! 🙏🏻

Hi Kerstin :) This rollator fits any age. It is designed for people with mobility issues - regardless of age. It has a lot of shock-absorption compared to other generic rollators on the market. The most shock-absorbing of our models is the Carbon Overland. The max user weight of this is 150kg. I would recommend you to try and look at our website to compare our different models depending on your grandma's needs and height/weight. And if you have any questions you can contact our customer service team. Head to www.byacre.com to read more :)

I don't understand why it's $600 in California. It doesn't have the features of my sturdy Nova Star 8 rollator which I paid $200 for.

Our biggest wish is that everybody can afford the freedom that a lightweight rollator like this offers. But we also know that this is not the reality. The reason this rollator is the lightest in the world is because it is made of carbon fiber and aircraft grade aluminum. Carbon fiber is a strong material most commonly used in premium bicycles, sports cars and airplanes. These materials are some of the best in the world to produce products that offer strength and light weight, but they are unfortunately also quite costly to produce and they require long, handcrafted processes during production. We realize this makes the rollator too costly for some, but we also know that using these materials are what gives all of our users around the world the freedom to keep being active and that is our ultimate goal with this product.

Before I retired, I worked for a company that made carbon fiber tooling for companies like Boeing, NASA, the list goes on and on. Can you tell me is the rollator solid or hollow? What specific carbon material was used for lay-up? ie. how course of weave is it. How many layers were used? Was the resin infused or was it layed up wet. I like the design but is a locking X truss brace sufficient for rigidity? Presently its 8/14/23 If I were interested in purchasing this rollator how long would I have to wait?

It took me a couple weeks to receive mine. I ordered the Ultralight and the Overland and a tire pump for the Overland wheels (I haven’t needed to use the pump) and the travel bags. I should have paid the $50 extra to get faster delivery. But I received both rollators before I left for vacation. I took the Overland and it was great on the cobblestone roads in old towns in Europe.

Does ur rollator have the pneumatic tires or the other ones? Not sure if the air tires may go flat too easily. What do u think?
@byacre

Hi. We have two models: Carbon Ultralight with soft PUR tires (not pneumatic) and Carbon Overland with pneumatic tires. It will depend on the terrain you will normally be walking on. For rough terrain we always advise pneumatic tires as they have better shock absoprtion. You can read more on our website www.byacre.com :) /Maria
