11:23 You got a very fitting award indeed! It was a long time coming, but this final result is outstanding! Absolutely incredible! I especially love the Horseshoe Bend river you made through the park. Looks really gorgeous and makes use of the martian soil in a way I never would have thought of.

Thanks very much for the kind words! Many thanks also for the name suggestions and comments throughout. The martian soil turned out nicer than expected actually - I think blending in a bit of the regular rock and brown dirt texture helped a little too. Cheers again!

Beautiful passionate content. Really appreciate your humble and thorough style. This is a contemporary kind of work of art, such creative expression within the boundaries of a game. Bravo. It's your truthfulness, simplicity and talent that drew me in and made me enjoy watching this series and more videos. Funny how watching others delight in their art/hobby is inspiring. God bless you. Just a heads up, this video isn't on the Playlist.

There's something about seeing the OpenRCT approach to park building applied to rct1's limited options that's really fascinating, like it both feels like a real park as well as one shipped with the game. Also I'm an astronaut now, I finally made my parents proud.
@MickanMansRCTStation

I agree! There's been a few things which I learnt in OpenRCT2 but actually work reasonably well when applied to RCT1 (eg. using Charlift cables to 'block' supports). Haha, I think its the closest most of us will get to being an astronaut!

So many amazing features to this park, I love all of it! the hidden Space station especially for me is a great idea. one question i haven't solved with this scenario completely. I have problems with guests getting lost, yet your pathing system seems quite complex, but no problem! what am I doing wrong here?
@MickanMansRCTStation
2 жыл бұрын
Thanks very much! Honestly I was expecting far more issues with guests getting lost in this park, mostly because: -it's RCT1, -I've put a 'double paths',-it's a huge park like you said! Make no mistake, there are certainly a few guests that do get lost in this park (maybe 10 or so per 2000 guests at any one time), but they do seem to figure it out eventually on their own accord. It all seems to come down to the number of 'junctions' in the park, the greater the number, the higher risk of getting lost. So although some of my paths are long, I would argue there isn't an excessive amount of these junctions, so that might be helping too. If you're using OpenRCT2, the 'debug' feature can help highlight pathfinding issues when you click 'Show wide paths' or something like that. Hope that helps and thanks again!

@@MickanMansRCTStation Thanks for the tips, that's a great help, I think your right, I became very conservative with my pathing, basically a giant elipse with a through road in the centre, but inspired by your designs I think I can try and be a bit more inventive in my pathways. Another question, do you set no entry signs blocking off your ride exit paths? (Another habit I picked up) thanks again and sorry for my słów reply! Keep up the videos!

Thanks and no worries! Yeah I use them quite a bit for long exit paths, and also some underground on the odd occasion where I used double paths to 'force' single paths, if that makes sense. I generally try and hide the no-entry signs as I don't love the way they look

In rct2 and updated it in openrct2! I located arid heights in Lake Havasu City AZ! I turned it into many different inspiration from various parks! I built nearly every type of coasters in it but it's only 25 I could fit into! I owned the whole entire land to make the park into what I wanted! I built two arrow interlocking looping coasters an mega looping coaster with only 4 inversions two loops and corkscrews and a pair of arrow shuttle loop coasters like Former Great Adventure's Lightning Loops as the only park in Arizona with two arrow interlocking looping coasters! Built three different Dinn Corporation wooden coasters one and double out and back painted green track as Dune Lizard of some sort and extended Thunder Run of Kentucky Kingdom red tracked as Desert Fox and a dueler which I only made it basic cause stats kept going bad unfortunately as Dust Devils! And built special other dueling coasters and my sister helped me work on! A quad dueling Reverse Free fall Coaster naked Rainbow Unicorn Racers with an Arrow Hyper Coaster named Oasis Storm inspired by Magnum XL 200 an Triple Premier/Mack Dueling Water Boat Coaster as multi colored Paint Swirlers as we had that machine before and a triple launched dueling air powered coaster as the Chimera Goat Lion and Serpent! Then the park had other great collections of other coasters and beautiful scenery all around! And Arid Heights is Arizona's largest amusement park and a one of a kind record breaking thrill park!

I was fooling around as a kid with this game, but I got back into it as an adult over 20 years later, so I've got a beginner's question - do all these trees, water features, themes and decorations matter in general or is it just when they're adjacent to a ride's tile? I've seen Deurklinik's Git Gud playlist and I thought he's focused way too much on tiny details and styling, yet their relation to game's mechanics is shown nowhere in-game. Also this park is huge and lots of things were breaking down, I'm curious to take a peak at its staff window.
@MickanMansRCTStation
2 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure how far away the scenery/decorations have to be from the ride, but I would assume it has to be within 1-3 tiles away for it to have an effect. They don't have a huge impact but can they can boost the excitement rating of rides by a decent amount and therefore allow you to charge a higher ticket price (and it also increases their park value contribution). They are absolutely not essential though, I just enjoy doing it. Most scenery-focussed parks are all about the details, rather than making a more popular/functional park. Yeah this park was quite large and had many older rides, unfortunately not a whole lot you can do about it in RCT1 other than replacing the ride with a new one. I had just about 1 mechanic for each ride since there were no financial limits in this scenario. Hope that helps!

It did have a few things that were unique including some coaster trains (original steel coaster, wooden coaster, corkscrew coaster trains for example), but they have recently been incorporated into OpenRCT2 Edit: Corkscrew coaster trains not quite yet). The ability to mix and match path types and support structures was also a feature brought over recently. One thing certainly unique to the original RCT is the 'spinning cars' of the steel-mini coaster, although I wouldn't be surprised if they are brought over soon too.
