thx nate. very concise info. i'm a newb who can pull off 95% of 3d maneuvers, except this one and tumbling into a horizontal "knife edge spin", for lack of a better term. this will help with the rolling harriers.

Enjoyed your video. I have been trying to learn the Rolling Harrier for some time using the Real Flight Simulator. Thanks for the hint about slowing down the physics. It has improved my learning curve tremendously....

good info , and it works, just gives you as much time as you need to get it right . I too started on a low setting with all the things I wanted to learn, great.

So glad I found this tip! I've been trying RH for several months at 100%. About the time I think I've got it going decent I try it at the field (10 mistakes high of course) and I totally flub it up

Thanks for this. I am learning this really quickly thanks to this tutorial. I have spent just over a day on the trying to do this and I'm getting better. I still have a week off school so hopefully I can do it by the end of the week

Hey, nice video. What part of the plane do you concentrate on to keep your timing right? Also, how did you learn to manage your throttle? When I slow it down like you suggested, I can do a couple then I end up going into a hover because of to much throttle or crash because of to little.

Hello. Please tell us about the high rates. What parameters should be set in order for the model to fly efficiently?

Very good - what is (was) the 3d pdf you reference?

There was a graphic circulating on rcgeoups at the time. I'd have to dig for it. The gist of it is explained. Early or late timing for steering

ultrakool I hope you continue to progress... learning 3d is exciting and you can make improvements pretty fast in most of it. The devil is in the details... smooth flying that looks like you did it on purpose is a lot harder ;). The move you are trying to figure out is called a lomchevak, sometimes called a crankshaft. You can find info about it on the 3dpedia located on 3drcforums.com

just came by for a review. this vid was instrumental for me, in breaking everything down in order to be better understood. thx. your comment on some pilots who've been flying 20-30 years, having zero desire to do 3D is so true. some guys at my club field don't care to even learn. whatever floats your boat, I guess, but I don't understand it. I've been flying for just about one year and ever since I first saw a diving knife edge into a steady one inches off the ground, I was hooked on 3D flying! what's not to like about it? it's extreme. thx again for your input.

Nathan LeBaron wonderful video! Where can I find the model that you are flying to add it to my RF 7.5 setup? Thanks

Jeff, I concentrate on the nose and canopy the most. But you bring up an interesting question regarding orientation in different attitudes. Check out the 3dpedia at 3drcforums.com. In the rolling harrier topic there is a chart that might be helpful.

Hello. I have not really been flying for the past few years but I will attempt to answer. I don't remember making any expo adjustments. Probably something built into the model for that. Holding the sticks is a personal preference. I like to pinch the sticks. Thumb goes on top and forefinger goes in front. I find that gives me the most control. Ymmv.
