Stephen is turning into an Icon... he's so unusual in his dress, demeanor and playing. He first took violin lessons, and made his father cry because his playing was so sweet and in tune at an elementary school assembly. Then his first bass teacher was a man from Israel who was a direct descendant of David from the Bible.

i finally figured it out after five years. its a combination of singles and doubles with the singles being the louder notes. the trick is it REQUIRES that your playing be completely relaxed or you won't be able to pull it of (at least at that speed). work on playing singles, doubles and para-diddles in one roll and eventually you'll get it. really his whole solo part is completely relaxed which is the key to playing at that level. he probably didn't break a sweat during this song
@funkyfillbeats
