@@anthonyangeli256Why shouldn't he be? He was the president whose strict anti-communist anti-big brother government policies ended the cold war. I'm guessing you prefer Jimmy Carter, I mean he crashed the American economy and got our soldiers killed in a failed operation to save our people from Iranian terrorists but at least he wasn't a big bad mean conservative.

I was a teenager and young adult when Reagan was president. You couldnt help but notice his optimism in the way he looked at life and dignity in the way he carried himself while he was president. Really sad whether you like him or not that today almost 40 years later than when Reagan first took offices, our president finds it appropriate to throw around juvenile type insults at others. It is deppressing.

And, back then, when he says, "I tip my heart to you as a friend " after saying i tip my hat to your as an actor.. we rarely get that today.. and one more thing..people back then, they don't have to "curse" to make people laugh. and i'm only 19.

@hccman2000 Sadly, people seemed to have had more class generally back then. Had the internet existed in the 30's 40's 50' & 60's, you couldn't even begin to imagine people of that era indulging in the kind of vulgar language, poor vocabulary, ignorant sentiment, & savage arguments & insults in a public domain that people do now. We have lost far more than just great actors, we have lost our humility & our sense of decency, honour, & good manners..

Jimmy was the founder of Hollywood’s Irish mafia, a group of Irish American actors who would go out on the town. The group included guys like Pat O’Brien, Frank McHugh and Spencer Tracy and one female, Joan Blondell . Whenever Cagney would hear of a young Irish actor new to Hollywood, he would go out of his way and take them under his wing. Ronny Reagan was one of those guys. Cagney’s acting ability often gets short shrift despite people like Orson Welles touting Cagney as ‘the greatest actor to ever appear in front of a camera’.

Well, I think a lot of that could be considered fluff. The last biography of Cagney from about 10 years ago...told about his alienatiing behavior towards his children and how neither of his kids (adopted) spoke to him after growing up. What was often portrayed in the media and film was not necessarily the way it was...Joan Crawford, a good case in point.

People say from the heart all the time ... The only difference is that those without class are advertised with their own personal publicists over social media. Quit generation bashing and degregrating people with values of all generations. Reagan like men are out there. 'Duke' like men are too. Missing things only recognizes that the past isn't possible for the future and that is a wasted effort.
