Ronaldinho more skilful in terms of what he could do with the ball.

One of the interesting things about these two players are that they both have the same name. Ronaldinho real name is Ronaldo! If I remember correctly he was asked if he could change the name because in the national team there was already Ronaldo, so so therefore they started calling him Ronaldinho instead of Ronaldo.

ADAJ3 Ronaldo didn't have a short career. He was the World's best player from 1995 to 1999. And he was the World's best striker from 2002 to 2006...He lost nearly three years from 1999 to 2002, due to serious knee injuries, that hampered the Olympian heights he could have reached. ( Pelé, Maradona, Messi, level)... Ronaldinho was a brilliant, flash pony, who played at an elite level for just, four years. 2002 to 2006. And then, flopped at the 2006 World Cup & had the most spectacular career nose dive after that World Cup, since Georgie Best...That's just unforgivable considering. He never had to deal with the numerous, potentially, career ending knee injuries, Ronaldo had to deal with.

john pacino huh? He was not the best player in the world until 97 then bottled the 98 final n had injury problems till 02. Had one good year in Madrid (02-03) then just went into decline mode which culminated in obesity etc n a fall from grace. Not a top 5 player of all time

Seriously. Is this even a debate? Ronaldo powered Brazil to TWO World Cup Finals. While Ronaldinho, at his peak in 2006, FLOPPED badly at the 2006 World Cup, when he was expected to light up the tournament to confirm, his World's number one status at the time... Ronaldo came into the 1998 World Cup, as the worlds number one player, at just twenty years of age & delivered. Powering Brazil to the Final...Ronaldo was one of the top three dribblers I've seen since the 1980s. (Maradona & Messi being the other two). Was a phenomenal goalscorer also & a great skiller, utilising step overs & elastico's, at Ferrari speed. All before Ronaldinho...Ronaldinho relied heavily on free style skills, which he was phenomenal at doing, to get him out of trouble or to decieve defenders, as his dribbling wasn't on par with Maradona, Ronaldo, Messi... However, his time at the top was brief & I'd put loads of great Brazilians over him, that did it at the top, for a number of years & not just for four years...Didi, Garrincha, Rivellino, Zico, Romario, etc, where all better players than Ronaldinho. I won't even bring O'Rei Pelé name into the equation. That would be an insult to the King.

Usaama Khan Nope. I was a big fan of Ronnie back in his heydays at Barca... He literally, single handely, brought Barca back from decline, to their summit. La Liga wins & a Champions League win...However, i ultimately have to look at his career objectively, in a dispassionate, cold hearted manner & ultimately. He screwed up. Big time! ...Flopped at the 2006 World Cup. Had a mediocre Champions League Final performance against Arsenal & then... Had the biggest career nosedive of a football career, anyone had seen in football. Since, the crash, bam, wollop, nosedive of George Best! Both players careers nosediving, at the age of just 26 ! ...Sorry. Ultimately, Ronaldinho blew it!

john pacino Ronaldinho dragged Brazil past England in the 2002 WC quarters when Ronaldo had probably his quietest game. Ronaldinho was as crucial as anyone in Brazil’s WC run.

Vaital V That Qtr Match against England, was Ronaldinho best World Cup performance for Brazil. But Ronaldo, with barely healed, busted legs, after hardly playing much football for three years through injuries...Scored the most goals in a WC tournament ( eight goals), including, both goals in the Final, since Gerdi Müller ten goals, back in the 1970 WC...An astonishing return, considering, how long he hadn't played regularly, for so long... What if, he hadn't been hampered by so many injuries, during his career? He'd be mentioned in the GOAT discussions as many times, as people mention Pelé, Maradona, Messi. He was _THAT_ good.
