Thanks! Great tips. I’ve recently been laying out framing for a small house and discovered the coping tool to cut intersection framing members - such as the rafter to ridge beam intersection. Easier than a reference plane if the two pieces actually intersect.

Hi. I have a problem with revit where I draw a stair from 1st floor to second. and in first floor there is the cutline and above is in dotted lines. but from the second floor plan the stair is being shown fully. no cutmarks or dotted lines. just down arrow. is there anyway where i can show a cutmark in the second floor plan as well. adjusting view range doesnt do anygood.

It's meant to be shown in full since you can actually see the whole stairs from that level. It will only show those cut lines if the stairs passes through the cut range for that floor plan level.

I sometimes make seams with a railing tool with profile 20x40mm. It's a good way, if the distance between seams should be different

At 7:21, you had a nice 3D dhaded view with the walls and roof in white, and the wood in natural colour. Could I ask how you achieve this?

The ridge in your example is a RIDGE BOARD not a RIDGE BEAM, so you need to add a collar tie in the upper thirs point of the rafter length, on the other option it would be a RIDGE BEAM but you would need a post from ridge beam to your your joist.

How did you set up your graphics - the thick outlines look nice, also the fact that the wood displays in colour. I think you have ambient shadows - is that right?

Did you ever treat the subject of layered roofs to get a element part roofs and model different layer lengths ? Cause in Revit roofs can't be exploded...very strange.
