Roofing is unfortunately a low barrier entry business. Anyone who buys all the proper equipment will usually burn out by the time he is able to pay it off Let’s talk about high turnover, lack of labor, training and just winging it

Honestly in South Dakota it's been all these storm chasers who gave the local guys a bad name, I'd love to see a video on how we can overcome that. They do such bad work, they don't hold their workers accountable and it's ridiculous, especially considering there's established businesses here getting such a bad reputation based on how these storm chasers are acting towards homeowners and replacing roofs.

I’m from South Dakota as well. What part of the state are you in? I’m guessing the eastern side since they just got a storm this year.

@@YetiRoofing ya, and the common thing is deceiving homeowner with contracts, up charging, sometimes double the original quotes; destroying people's property like their fascia and then pretend like it's not a big deal. I had a homeowner come complain to me about another company ruining her fascia boards and the company deleted her review of them on facebook and google then their workers started harassing her, required a BBB intervention. And then while I was inspecting a roof across the street their project manager is screaming at this woman was so unprofessional.

I agree with this guy 100%! I have a different scenario but along the same lines. My bosses all three of them was deleted, eat Adderall and do cocaine like it’s fucking candy! I work generally seven days a week my higher ups don’t seem to understand that the people that don’t use fucking drugs can’t work 18 hour fucking days seven days a week! Sorry, venting over but yes, something needs to change in the industry, I’m literally expected stone cold, sober, and 50 years old to keep up with 28 year old drug attic, Sarang uppers and stimulants! And it’s fucking common throughout the industry. Ridiculous.

We drink and smoke on the job always, and most of our roofs don't leak and the ones that do were all finished by Joe. Ha ha what a joke and I agree with you that our industry stinks. I am thankful to have a good crew that takes pride in what they do, even when it hurts.

How come you dint name the company that dint do safe work and was getting drunk on job-that’s not calling them out? It’s just a story

Not worth the drama. We can always run the story but not the time now. That company’s story is so messed one day we will have to spend an hour on their episode. No ethics, bad practices, questionable claims but it’s all starts with job site and workers, and they use subs who hate working for them. I will just stop here.

@@RoofingInsights3.0 Ok, if they are being excessively reckless and unsafe, someone might get hurt or even die. I hope you gave them some common safety practices ideals. Ps it’s not ok to do drugs even on your own time and be in construction. That blurry person outline in thumb nail looks familiar- hope it’s not who comes to my mind first- bad behavior is not how I remember it

Imagine this. Your have $100 million dollar business in the family. You inherit it. With millions in the bank. Years later you can’t even rebuild it to the half size of old glory days. You drink and addicted to substances because that’s the only way you can move in life. BUT! You want to teach others how to be successful 🤦♂️ and you want to fight and argue with everyone who calls you out. Don’t be this guy.

This video is dumb. Doesn’t even show a finish product. Just an expensive set up on a mansion. Not everyone can afford 150 to 200k for a roof in their house
