UPDATE after 1 day of this being live: If you don't see it in the comments, then see it here - I have the best viewers! Thank you for the suggestions. Sure does look like this screw is either 50TPI or Metric. I'll be taking a look at this again next time I'm in the shop.
I test my skills and find some challenges to make this missing adjustment screw for the $5 boring head I picked up at a swap meet. These heads are used in your Bridgeport mill to bore out larger holes vs standards drills.
Getting this completed for a machine shop rookie like me took longer than I planned. But like Moose said, just get out in the shop and do something. It’s the only way to get better. Without plans to go off I just winged it.
Also, spent a fair bit of time chasing my tail. My tailstock that is…! But after some work I was able to get it closer to aligned.
This screw has very tight 48TPI and was very challenging to make.
Негізгі бет Rookie makes a Criterion type Boring Head adjustment screw. Lathe alignment and fine thread turning.
