I'm a swing dancer and I'll tell you jump blues as these cats do it opens a door to the very guts of it all when you're dancing. My dad played Dixie and swing trumpet and I grew up hearing it all, I'd say this is about as gutsy and earthy as it can get. Tell all, Brothers, tell all!

When Three Hours comes to an end, that is the loudest Montreux reaction I have heard - ever - and by now I have heard thousands. Roomful sets the all-time high bar for blues revival bands - this kind of set & sound must have been the dream of Al Wilson, Butterfield (who came close), Bloomfield & probably Clapton & John Mayall.

@@juniorbrantley oh and Robert Plant - he put out a jump record - Pat Benatar and our own Colin James wisely got with the Roomful, to make records. Came back and listened Mr Brantley and honestly - who in the group would not be happy with this as a live KLP follow up to Lupo's? Never heard Pic better or more clearly - the whole thing is beyond good. Our other firiend Mr ned Ronnie Earl: one word, masterpiece - he has the house spell bound

Listen to the hooks sung by Greg Piccolo - they are irresistible - example, this version of Yes Indeed is polished as though in a studio - and the man communicates charm

But for the absence of Copley this is as good as any line-up ever in blues revival - from Butterfield right through. One set here in Halifax (at the start of 5 years w this personnel) opened with Gator's Groove - and Gator Tail had played down the street just 2 years before - and Three Time Loser by Pickett, who played here, and fired a band here, and came back to a club just a block away from the one Roomful worked. What was then Halifax Cablevision had a fine arts show called Marquee hosted by Mr Tom Regan, for which I did record reviews, and half the guys from Roomful volunteered to descend to the Lord Nelson hotel Arcade and go on camera for interview late summer of 1983. Former schoolteacher Ronnie Horvath appeared in black beret and Ray-Bans, talked for an hour, and then accepted an invite to the Saturday matinee at Ginger's Tavern..

@@RustedTelevisione yeah man & they came back in 84 and killed it again - still driving the half-length school bus - and when at break the club DJ threw on sledgehammer by Peter Gabriel, then the big radio hit, boys in the Roomful all asked girls to dance, and hit the floor

andrew gillis very cool. Do you happen to still have the video footage of them being interviewed circa 1983?

should have said said Pinky, & band founder Duke are part of the concept - and Junior Brantley, Paul, Ronnie are all fine replacements, Porky was sort of like a ringer they added
