Just proves that attitude is so important in a fight. The hawk can sense that rooster has no fear and doesn't wait around.

I mean, it's a big advantage in evolution. Only females give birth, so more of them mean more children, that's why many species evolved male protectors or directly males getting eaten after mating. That's why hunters say, "you kill a male, you only kill one. You kill a female, you kill hundreds"

Good job rooster. I think my large fowl cochin rooster engaged the coopers that has been after my chickens. Haven't lost any adults, but 1 8 week old got carried off. I was 50 feet away so I got it back unharmed then an EE 8 week old was half alive when I stepped out the door. I walked inside for less than 60 secs. There was a trail of feathers from the chick and the rooster but no hawk. Then the hawk came back about an hour later snooping.

I forget how fast barnyard fowl can be. Brave rooster, smart hawk. I wonder how long a hawk would last if the rooster was an aseel or an American Game.

Would you want to ha e more than one Rooster? Will they us usually engage a raptor?
@nataliesnyder695
3 жыл бұрын
One rooster is enough for about 10-15 hens. Some roosters will engage, but it’s a risk for them because they can be killed. A lot of it depends on the breed and disposition of the individual bird. Also, in my (limited) experience, younger roosters won’t engage, but older ones will. This rooster actually ran from his first hawk when he was a little under a year old. I lost a hen that day. I had the same experience with his dad. He’s more confident and protective now that he’s more mature.

Its time to get right with Jesus. nobody is automatically gonna go to heaven at the end of it, we all have lied or stolen or had sex before marriage and the punishment is hell. Jesus died so you can get a clean slate and forgiveness of future sins if you repent of them if you commit them, so you receive the gift of forgiveness by following him. When you start you have to stop sinning willfully, and follow his word and obey it, strive to do those things. That’s following the Lord Jesus. Read the Bible and find wisdom.
