That was one of the greatest cartoons I've ever seen in my life. Seriously.

This toon is full of quirky, wonderfully animated moments. Nellie Bly smoothing out her crumpled dress was pure genius!

It's amazing to me that so much of the audacious inventiveness and style exhibited in this 2D animation has never reappeared in 3D animation work and probably never will. Thanks for the upload.

there is something about the classic cartoon that holds up even better today the animation of today cannot hold a candle to the animation of the 30s 40s and 50s🙂

The cartoon was actually choreographed. Hubley and his artists made extensive drawings of an L.A. - area dancer named Olga Lunick who worked out dance routines for the characters. Just check out Frankie's enrance into the courtroom and her pas de deux with her lawyer . . .

Lots of political undertones in this cartoon, which is consistent with the ideology of the entities that made it. She represents American Capitalism, seductive & deceiving, only able to get off with her slick high priced lawyer. In the end we see her true nature as she shoots the lawyer.("the last capitalist will be hung by the very rope he just sold to the hangman"). In the fantasy world of cartoons she ends up punished when the masses, the jury, see what she (American Capitalism), really is.

Paul Terry got there first. He made intentionally made Terrytoons for kids when he noticed if kids laugh at a movie everyone else laughs too. He dumbed down the writing long before Hanna-Barbera dumbed down the animation.
