I'm with you there. Always had a love for his music and the person. Besides all his brilliant music and guitar talent, there is no other band or musician that I know of that has better song intro's. Is there a memorial weekend in Europe where bands play his music over a weekend? I've heard of this but coming from South Africa, it's not that publicised.

Bei dem Konzert stand fest, Rory trennte sich von Lou Martin und Rod ´de Ath. Die beste Besetzung die Rory Gallagher je hatte. RIP all members

So very lucky not to only seen him many times both with Taste and this band. But so fortunate to have spent time with him at the Buxton blues and Rock concerts. Love reading everyone's comments. I call this raw blues. He played from his heart and soul.

Non lo conoscevo, sono rimasta folgorata. Mi è arrivato tutto dritto al cuore, frequenza immediata, musica senza inganno che può scaturire solo da un uomo così autentico e puro, prima ancora che da un artista

Great stuff. I relate to the atmosphere of this song very much. Ever been in a place, surrounded by people having a good time and feeling like you're a million miles away? I have, more than once. Rory shows restraint in this song guitar-wise. Swells, some well-timed arpeggios, tasty bends. His vocal soulfully tells the tale. The band is smoking and Rory gives them plenty of room to shine. An excellent live version of a great song.

Very well said, Ken. I've been "there" many times myself, but having only recently discovered Rory's life-changing talent, I feel that I've found a kindred spirit at last.

I've been listening to rock since the late seventies, and Rory is one of the very few who give me shivers. For me there is no one like him on guitar, you have to go to the great classical performers who seem to be playing from the inside of the music.

Buckethead is where it's at if you have the time to sift through his massive discography. Check out his recent releases Blue Dunes, Rainbow Fountain, Communicating Through The Stars, Carriage, In The Sky, Held Reflection, Stairways Of Planets. At least a few of those are guaranteed to give you shivers

There are so many really fantastic guitarplayer, but Rory will be always the Godfather of guitar. A million miles away but always in our hearts. We will never forget you and thank you for the best and most emotional concerts ever. I´ve seen dp, lz, rs, pf and so many others famous and fantastic combos, but no one could reach the intensity of your pure music and emotions.

I had the privilege to see him 4 times in the Ulster hall Belfast. He played with so much feeling and intensity. Just pure magic to see him play live. This and the live version of souped up Ford my 2 favourites. From 2 sides of his playing. One with so much soul and feeling an the other with so much power and intensity. Amazing musician and person.

A friend of mine, now long since past, told me of a convesation he had once, with a very shy, unassuming guy, at a music venue that had left an indelable mark on him. The guy he chatted with that night? Rory Gallagher! Me, well, I shook the hand, that had shook the hand of!
