Love you Rosalee, the info you share are invaluable to me. As soon as I can afford it, I'll certainly buy your books. And thank you for not interrupting your videos with ads. At the start and the end is perfectly fine. Keep inspiring, keep smiling.💚 (Sue, a Brit living a simple life in bella Italia in the mountains growing my food, keeping chickens, forging, bartering with small local farms..no car, no central heating, no washing machine, no hot running water, no TV, very very little money, almost nothing...a wood stove for heating, cooking, etc...ash to wash the dishes, make my own vingers, creams, ferments...etc...I'm the healthiest and happiest I've ever been...thank you is not enough. 😍😘💚

Rosehips are my secret to great, healthy, youthful skin! I grind dried rosehips, mix either lemon water or just plain water and make a paste out of it. It does wonders for my complexion and my immune system.

Hi Rosalee. Do you suggest to harvest the rosehips after the first hard freeze for the best and strongest nutrients? I found the wild rosehips in the thicket of the woods here at my senior living community. Lucky me...no one else here forges. :0) I will be making some rosehip tea soon. Thank you for your excellent video. Take care.

Thanks for watching! If your area experiences a frost shortly after the rosehips are ripe, then waiting after a frost is great. In some climates the frost never comes or it comes too late and by that time the rosehips have spoiled. So it's climate dependent. Hope that helps!

Am I better off buying dried rosehips, or rosehip powder? Not for skin care but for internal benefits. Thanks.

It depends on how you want to work with them. I love de-seeded rosehips for all sorts of culinary dishes. Rosehip chia seeds, rosehips preserves, rosehip cranberry sauce, etc. I like the powdered hips for baking.

When you make the tea with the whole rosehip, do you need to not cut the top part so as not to expose the itchy hairs? Or does one avoid the irritant? Thank you!
@HerbsWithRosalee
Жыл бұрын
If you leave them whole, you just strain them before drinking the tea. The hairs are on the seeds, which are inside the rosehip (fruit). ~Karin

thank you for the information. I am wondering if i'm using the dried whole rosehips for powder does it matter if there are seeds in there? if so. can you de-seed them after drying them whole by using that blender method?
@HerbsWithRosalee
9 ай бұрын
Dried whole rosehips will most likely have the seeds in them. I would be cautious powdering those...maybe if they are powdered completely they won't be an issue... but I'm not really sure about that. Best to use them whole, in teas or syrups, and use something else for powder.
