The Rossi rp 63 is clearly the best of the bunch. High bore axis and all features checking the boxes. I'm presently carrying a s&w model 640 da only with a 2.25 " barrel. It has only 5 shots. The RP 63 has 6 shots out of a 3 " barrel. It's onky a couple of ouced more than the Smith. I was going to get the Kimber but it's not a high bore axis to control recoil. All of this adds up to a very clear edge in a sd situation. I'm going to get it. Thanks for your insights and observations !

Had been considering the Taurus 856 Defender, but the Rossi rp63 seems better if only because of the .357 possibilities. Thanks for the vid.

You’re welcome. The 605 and 856 are similar in size, if that helps. The RP63 is superior to general Taurus firearms. I’m not even monetized, btw. This was a genuine informational video for people interested in revolvers.

The smallest six shot double action revolver is probably the Charter Arms Police Undercover. It weights about 21 ounces loaded and has a 2.2 inch barrel. It is a .38 caliber, can fire .38 +P, but not a steady diet.

Thanks for your insights on this model. I was a little concerned about the relationship between the rear of the finger guard and top grip finger -- that elevated grip you understandably like puts it in a magnum jeopardy zone! Honest Outlaw did a range review recently and he too liked it but noted that it bit a little with 357s. He seemed to think it wasn't a deal breaker, and he appears to have average to large mitts . . . I guess you'll let us know if there's a good reason for concern on that score!

First off, thanks for the comment. Second, sorry for the late response, it’s been a busy couple weeks. I didn’t experience any “bite”, but one thing I did change (after the video) is sand the edges of the trigger, as they are a little sharp. I recently lent the firearm to my father (who doesn’t currently own a concealed carry handgun, and has state restrictions on capacity). Once he is adequately armed, I will do a follow-up covering some disadvantages I’ve seen, such as the hammer disconnect can “bind” in the frame, causing a complete stoppage of the firearm. I’ll be covering some semi-autos and some methods of carrying with different platforms and their purposes in specific situations. Again, not doing this for money or fame or “likes”, I’d just like my fellow man to be informed.

Thank you for this video. I had been planning on buying the Taurus 605, but happened upon some videos of the RP 63 which I wasn't aware of. The more I learn about the RP 63 the more I like it, and I believe this will be my choice over the 605 now. The only drawback is that there are no RP63's for sale in my area at all to look at. I would like to at least hold one before I buy it, but might just take the plunge (based on all the great reviews) and order one online.

I am seriously thinking of getting the Rossi. Since it would be a home-defense handgun, the 3-inch barrel being tight in the pocket doesn't matter. In fact, I wish it came in a 4-inch version. I know where I can get one for about $400 OTD.

The way he throws those weapons around, constantly slamming them against each other like that is rather disturbing. Yes, they're just tools but they also have resale value and every dent, nick, and scratch just makes them worth even less. I just watched the value of several of his revolvers go from 100% to 90% condition.

Holster wear, dry fire, and shooting has the same effect. As does long-term storage. Properly opening and closing a cylinder. Touching them with bare hands and no gloves on. Carrying them in the rain. Would you prefer I treat them like antique glassware?
