Let the good times ROLL! Need a Rossland trail suggestion to start your season off right? Check out Milky Way and Green Door, two blue trails that are some of our early-season trails in our 200km network:
www.trailforks... and www.trailforks...
Trail Description of Milky Way from Trail Forks:
Upper Milky Way is a smooth bench cut trail with some natural technical features including off camber roots, rocks, a small optional bridge drop and a small rock roll/drop with a transition bridge. The trail caters to all skill levels and descends via fast, poppy corners and well organized swoopy trail. Upper Milky Way can be a fast, fun connector linking trails to Lower Milky Way and can be incorporated on a number of different rides.
Lower Milky Way: One of the funnest trails around. Fast and twisty trail through a wide range of sub-ecosystems. Some small wooden booters thrown in for good measure. Not recommended as an uphill.
Trail Description of Green Door from Trail Forks:
Don't let the name deceive you, this is an intermediate trail with a few tricky rocky sections. Also a great ride or shuttle for beginner riders looking for the next challenge. Very often ridden uphill to connect Milky Way (lower) to Roger's, so check your speed coming down.
The lower half is new school flow with some tight corners down to Warfield. Great trail design down a fairly steep ridge. Sandy dry terrain with corners and drops hardened by excellent rock work through forest and across rock slabs. Take the city bus, rent a shuttle from Kootenay Mountain Biking or ride the Railgrade back to Rossland.
