The chanting is a verse from an ancient tragedy called VAKHES and all the clean vocals are from a priestess calling Dionisus to help her against the society's (i think) persecutors that trying to kill her inside the temple of Dionisus. The whole clean section of vocals are actually in ancient Greek so even we Greeks don't understand it well p.s. That song is one of my (many) favorites from this band... Kudos from Greece stay well and metal

Kurwa! Rotting Christ-damn,I love this band, every album is an ass-ripping experience! They use female voices occasionally, on AEALO they invited Diamanda Galas, the Satanic Goddess to sing in one of their tracks and it was BRILLIANT.

Yeah it reminds me of the vibe of Orders From The Dead - one of my favorites of theirs. So much feeling.

I just don't know what kind of dark magic this band has that makes such simple songs SO GOOD. Just SO GOOD. I love when they bring in other voices in unusual way. The frantic chanting is such an intense build when paired with the riffs. And it makes the chorus hit even harder. In a that vein of other voices, I LOVE their use of Diamanda Galas' "Orders From The Dead" - so haunting, super heavy as is proper since it's about a horrific massacre of Greeks in 1922. P.S. "Thoughts no prayers" on a song with the title "Come, Lord" lol very nice touch.

The female vocalist is actually an actress from the national theatre. So she knows these lines very good. Now do you wonder how to say the lord's prayer in Greek? Apage satana

I'm going to see these guys in May here in Australia (I know right, incredible!) I wasn't a big fan of the chanting either and it probably would have worked better in the context of a video. The words are from the ancient Greek tragedy The Bacchae by Euripides (c.480 - 406 BC) ...eh, it's a Greek thing. Cheers guys.

I second that, especially Threnody. It's so mfg. Also it has ancient Greek vibes and instruments incorporated. And lastly Threnody means lamentation.

As a Hellin(Greek), i can understand some of the lyrics because they are from the ancient tragedy of Euripedes valled Βάκχαι(Vahkes), speaking about the coming of the god Dionysus son of ZEUS coming to Thebes disguised as a human. There at the time, the king of Thebes named Pentheas rejects that Dionysus is indeed a god, and for that disrespect is killed by his mother. In th song Danai the woman singing the lyrics, is shouting that the followers of Dionysus are prosecuted and hunted down and is asking "Are you seeing what is happening oh Dionysus, son of ZEUS?" and then shouting ΕΛΘΕ ΚΥΡΙΕ=COME LORD. Next, the priestess(Danai) is saying how the Chief God ZEUS, saved Dionysus from a palace fire in Thebes when the daughter of the king, Cadmus(Cade)was pregnant with Dionysus and before the palace was burned, ZEUS put the unborn baby Dionysus in his lower leg until he was ready to be born. Finally, realizing that doom is approaching the male voices all shout together: ΔΙΑ ΕΛΑ meaning ZEUS COME, 4 times in response to the injustice that is happening. Finally, Dionysus appears in his true form and rains down judgment on those who hunted and persecuted his followers driving them mad and finally killing them. As a true ΕΛΛΗΝ(Greek), i shout as well: ΔΙΑ ΕΛΑ ZEUS COME

Nice song, but I don't think I'll ever become a real fan of this band. Something about their sound just makes me go a different way and check out other bands.

@@arcanjo2759 Legit point, but I've actually listened to three or four of their albums as a whole (as I always do), but something didn't click. Some songs I find great, others just leave me emotionally empty-handed, so to speak.

@@bodenlosedosenhose1590 i agree with you, i also feel the same with some songs, there are several like this on the last album, for me some songs are just riffs being repeated several times with some choir, but when they make amazing songs, then they really get my attention

@@arcanjo2759 Yeah, couple of bands feel like that to me, too. Lots of fillers, but two or three really outstanding tracks. Not in general, but a good example would be Inquisition's last album. Only fillers, but also the amazingly awesome 'Luciferian Rays', which in my view is one of the best Inquisition tracks ever.

My poor 😭 nervous has problem 😂 after the song's lishening, those woman's screams are totally hateful but maybe 🤔 this is the real meaning of the song. I like Rotting Crist a lot but not this song, it's not for me, it's too much black for my taste. Saki's solo album is fantastic. I liked your first reaction with the woman's screams, you had a strange face both and myself too.
