Thanks. Nice seeing you show the reality that occurs with most common woodturners without big expensive lathes, and that occasional breakage of the tenon or just spinning out of the chuck. We have all gained an appreciation of the face shield.

Nice job on the rough bowl work. Love the beautiful wood. Epoxy works great on those cracked bowls, put blue tape on both sides and fill the crack with epoxy, . Works great and looks nice most of the time. Also on your drying rack. I've had great success by putting the fresh roughed out bowls in a box or cabinet for about a month before putting them on an open rock.

Hate when the tenon breaks! I think I would have used the parting tool to take a slab off the top for a plate/tray. Such beautiful grain would show really well, and the bowl below would still be a respectable size and show off even more of that crotch feather. That one that cracked had wood too close to the pith for my comfort. Not surprised it is looking to be a resin crack fill for a touch of elegance. I would go with gold brass or black coffee fill in the cracks and make a feature of them.

Did you consider drilling out the center w a large Fortsner bit?
