Thanks Tom. Yeah I'm not thinking this gadget was worth the price tag but it gives you a number to look at. I'd probably not buy another.

Hey thanks for watching. I didn't mount the sensing pads very low in the gate because I was told they wear out fast when you mount on that low. If I were to do it again I'd mount them at the bottom just for the reason that you get a more real time reading on the hay instead of having such a delay for whatever is going in the baler to reach the pads. If that makes sense at all

I installed one on my 535 Deere. I'm not impressed with it. Just like you said, from low to 30% in 50 feet. I don't think I would buy another one either. But it's something to go by to make the decision to continue or not.

That's how mine is. Don't even think about looking at it after dark. You'll read high all night but if I use the hand probe everything is ok.

@@AgWildNebraska I agree with you on not looking at it after dark. Sucks that's when we need it the most though. I'm going to invest in a probe style this year.

I think it makes a difference how fast it's coming in the baler, how tight your bales are, and how heavy your windrows are.

I bought the same one in the spring put on my square baler. I’m very pleased with it so far

Yeah I wish they would have made the cord about 3' longer. I'm limited to where I can mount the monitor to the back of the cab.

Our baler has one on it that doesn't work. I hate not knowing for sure. I think they pay for themselves in saved hay. IMO

I guess I don't really trust the darn thing. It fluctuates so much I don't even look at it anymore. Maybe mine isn't set right or something. It is a guide I guess...

We have a hand held that works good. We do use that as a reference.

Wonder if it will work better than my Vermeer? Mine is relatively accurate...if precision is not a big concern! BTW different hay types read differently...

Well I thought I was subscribed. I guess not. Nice baler. Is that a silage baler

No it's not. But I put a high moisture kit on it so it will handle wetter stuff if need to.
