ahh brilliant! I actually picked this one up from cambridge. Do you remember the registration number of your old one, would be fun to see if it's still around!

@@Jammbert9 wow sorry have no idea. It was so long ago in 1983. It was a yellow and it was the v6, 2500 liter with the aluminum block engine.

That’s bloody gorgeous. Some driving footage in the cabin would be great. Windows up preferably to hear the refined bark of that V8! Great car.

Thankyou 😊 I've uploaded an exhaust view video doing some driving around, and I'll get a cabin view up as well.

What version did you have? I certainly don't have any intention of getting rid of this one. I've really enjoyed owning it 😊

That lovely car brings back memories of my many SD1 Rovers . I had all engine sizes except the diesel, but the V8 was always my favourite. I had Misty, so called for her reg, MST97R and Carol, C199CWL. My ex girlfriend stole the spare keys from my daughter's flat, paid a junkie to steal my car and burn it out. She was a rare manual VDP and was fully restored, I was only paid £2000 by the insurance company. The exhaust and paint job cost more than that. Unfortunately that was the end of classic cars for me. I stick to classic motorcycles now. I was the regional rep for Scotland in the SD1 club too.

They were always a good car but not a great one. I had an '86 Vandenplas fully loaded but the brakes were terrible, especially with the rear drums it always needed the 4.1 litre engine from the P76.

I do have to agree, it was a massive step back technically from the P6, and the brakes are terrible! I do love the way they look though, and after a lot of work I'm happy with how this one performs, its not quite 4.1 litres but it's not far off now!

I know, it's a NOS one too only a few years old! Something I've not managed to fix yet.
