This makes it much easier to understand the differences between the Row, Section, Container and CSS Grid of Containers. Thanks for another great video.

I love this plugin. It is incredibly powerful but that also means there's a steep learning curve. That's why I love these videos.

Thank you so much. I got confused by the other videos cuz they were faster, now I understand it much more and can go correct my mistakes. By the way Greenshift is Fabulous if it wasn't for user error (myself). Lot's to learn, but so worth it. I'll probably watch this 10 more times since I am green on the subject. Maybe I'll shift from green newbie to expert = Greenshift 😄

23:01 Ability to add custom CSS to a Greenshift block, either the block's class in general or the currently selected block instance. 👍 That's a cool feature per se! 🤔How you implemented it seems a bit over-complicated: A textarea, and inside a special MARKUP for applying the custom CSS to the selected instance. 💡Idea for an alternative: Simply two separate textareas with two titles: "Custom CSS for the block class" vs. "Custom CSS for selected block instance(s)". The plural "s" in brackets is there in case the inspector allows selecting multiple instances of a block type. If that's not possible than just use the singular. In the backend you can keep your {GREENSHIFT} markup, but for the user it's simply two textboxes. In case you want to save vertical space: Two tabs (or as a segmented control) on top which show the approporiate textarea below. Custom CSS for [ Class | INSTANCE ] my-css-attribute: my-value ; other-css-attribute: other-value ;

Please do a video explaining Greenshift Breakpoints settings

I think it's too much to make video for this because it's too simple. You can add own breakpoints in pixels which will overwrite plugin's breakpoint

Would be great to have the ability to set a column/row start (with z-index) for overlapping layouts. Absolute positions of column have ther advantages, but also disadvantages. It's often a bit tricky to adjust them for all breakpoints.

both column and row have position and z-index already

@@WPSoul Yes, but I mean a "column-start" property for offset a column and overlapping others, not absolut positions. Example for a more complex layout: kzitem.info/news/bejne/spqKnXibgWR5dKA It has it's advantages over absolute positioned columns.

@@jugibur2117 I checked your video, but I don'tsee any benefits to use CSS grid for such overlaping. It's too much manual tweaks and calculations. In Greenshift, there is toolbar option for settings side of absolute position + CSS transform So, such layouts are available in few clicks twitter.com/GreenshiftWP/status/1566665761766121477

@@WPSoul I have to disagree that you can do exactly the same with "absolute" (alone because it takes content out of the flow). But I can also understand that you don't want to overload the UI. I then simply help myself with individual CSS if it is necessary.

@@jugibur2117 if you can keep flow, then, plugin has CSS grid block. Overflow is better to make via CSS transform for one grid item. Method which is described in video - too long, you need to calculate this overflow section width by yourself, set custom complex grid values, different start, end options for each resolution. This doesn't look like it simplifies workflow.

If Row block is the first block to use what is the best practice to create a section on a page? Eg if I use background colours to segment different parts of the page is there any way to group Rows if wrapping Rows to a Container is bad style?
@WPSoul
7 ай бұрын
yes, wrapping them in Container is bad practice and you don't need container for this. Row block has background option, the same as Container

@@WPSoul thanks for the quick answer 😊In my case I have multiple Rows on a single section. I would like to wrap them into a single div to make structure more coherent and to inherit background colour from a single element to all Rows. Is there some preferred way to group Rows or other method for the use case I described? Thanks!

@@frankrussi You can place rows inside Rows/Section OR in Container. Both will work, but if you need to center content, then you should use section/rows, if you need to wrap something with additional container, then container should be used
